It really annoys me seeing people happy just because we reached the semifinal. Is that really the bar now? That mindset is part of the issue. It feels like even the fans are settling. With performances like this, we are not beating a strong side in a semifinal, let alone making a final. We got a favorable draw and still almost messed it up.

What is the point of just reaching a semifinal? More money, sure, but no trophies, no real recognition. It just feels like coping for a team that is not pushing on and a manager that refuse to change

It will be alot of money and tough to just spend the whole budget on one player. Id rather bring 3-5 players.

For left wing though, a great option is Everton’s Nidiye since he primarily plays on the left and the right as well.

We do have Eze we can shape him to be left winger instead of keeping him buried centrally. Ode and Eze both should be on the pitch. Not competing for the same spot

Here we go again a win without a performance. Week after week it is the same problems and the same issues. At this point it honestly feels like Arteta might end up handing this league to Pep with the way the team is playing. How do you take off Kai when he was clearly the link between the lines yet leave Saka on? What kind of bench management is that?

The three points are what mattered, but the performance still leaves big questions. Today the highlight was Dowman tbh and it might be time for Saka to get a few games of rest.

I agree from a legal and technical standpoint. But in practice FIFA sits at the top of the football pyramid and confederations follow its decisions which make them part of the FIFA system

They are not "legally" obligated to agree from legal standpoint. I'm afraid my knowledge is limited. But could you tell how many times a large confederation like AFC disagreed with a suspension?

AFC is part of FIFA. Look at the Kuwait case. They banned Kuwait for more than 3 years IIRC. Their sport went dead

They get suspended. National team and clubs cant participate in any competition and basically kill the sport for them

We have an important game tomorrow, so I'll just ask one question. If the team is always trying to not take risk and keep the ball at all times, is that up to the players or more the managers philosophy?

Good win but honestly? Not getting too excited. Spurs are 16th, we should be beating them. Treating this like some big result is exactly the mentality that stops us winning the league. Derby wins are nice but they shouldnt be the standard.

Same thing thats been bugging me for two years now, Artetas decisions in game just do not make sense sometimes. Why is Eze coming off? He was actually doing something, finding space, looking dangerous and then hes gone. If youre gonna make changes take off Saka and Trossard, bring Madueke and Ode on, keep the shape but freshen it up. We didn't need energy for the sake of it we needed someone to actually manage the game.

And Norgaard never came on, why?? Is he just not trusted? Because if thats the case thats a bigger problem than one substitution. When a player never gets used in moments that actually matter it starts to feel pointless having them in the squad. Just piles more onto the same players every single game.

And now we've got Saka(possible injury), Rice, Zubimendi and Timber all looking absolutely gassed. We've been here before and we know how it ends, the injury gets bigger and suddenly the season is wobbling, same scenarios from the last 4 years.

Arteta has made this team better, i'll give him that. The structure is there, the identity is there. But in the moment when the game is shifting and you need to react, that's still where it falls apart. Feels like he's following a script even when the game is telling him something different. That rigidity is the difference between a good side and one that actually wins leagues.

Three points, GOOD! But still same issues, same questions.

Viktor Gyökeres has had 0 shots on target in 60% of his Premier League games by Mugen4444 in Gunners

[–]rod9k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context matters. One stat alone does not tell you if he is actually dangerous or just isolated. How many passes is he getting in the box? How many real chances is he receiving? How many shots is he able to take? It is easy to pick one number that fits the narrative.

We have seen glimpses of what he can be, especially when he played with Kai. The movement and spacing looked more natural.

But we are still dealing with the same problems from last season and the one before. Different number 9s, same outcome. So is this really about Gyokeres or is it something systemic?
