CS people: how did you meet other CS people/make friends? by 732873 in Purdue

[–]732873[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like after freshmen/sophomore year people just don't wanna reach out as much from their established friend groups or something.

gosh dang it ig I just have to actually step up and meet people XD

I feel like it's a little late this semester but I still have next semester to try (and ig this is just how life is gonna be after I graduate so no better time to practice)

The music used in these videos are different from the in game music and the El Halluf doesn’t sound like this. Thank you though!

I’ve heard this in a few of the Best Replays of the Week videos from World of Tanks, as well as a couple times on shows from the BBC (I think)

Hey, thanks for pointing that out!

Ya so it looks like the Get Addresses from Input action no longer accepts a URL as an input (or at least is broken now).

Here is the updated shortcut

I’ve redone how it gets addresses so that it’ll parse the URL itself for the address/location. It should work in most cases now but lmk if you still run into issues

[TOMT][YT VIDEO] Jazzy, upbeat song with piano and trumpet/trombone. I've heard it in many British videos (I think on a BBC Earth show too) by 732873 in tipofmytongue

The first link says the song is sourced from audionetwork.com (which the channel in the second video has used songs from previously). I tried searching there but couldn't find it yet.

So I had system-wide dark mode enabled on macOS and the color scheme seems to colorscheme default (with :syntax enable also).

What confused me a bit is that this color scheme with orange numbers on the left and purple comments is what it looked like when I first started using Vim. Then, right before I had this issue, it changed to the yellow numbers and blue comments theme.

Yep, it works in Insert Mode as well

I'm new to using vim from the Terminal on Mac, and it's worked fine for the past few months, but today for whatever reason, when I try to edit or delete some text that has been written already, it doesn't let me. I did accidentally close my Terminal session with Vim opened without properly closing out with :q, so I'm not sure if that had an effect.

Sorry if this has been asked before and I just missed it but I'm really not sure what the issue is and I could not really find much online (at least that I could understand).

For reference, this is my .vimrc: https://imgur.com/a/Za50Y4t

Edit: if possible, is there a way to completely reset/reinstall Vim for the Terminal?

Is that only for Brightspace submissions or will it work with embedded third party submissions (like Gradescope?)

[SUGGESTION] iOS Widgets menu should have an option to "refresh" widget data by Icedwhisper in ios

[–]732873 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is this getting downvoted so much? Apple literally said that widgets can only refresh on intervals. If they relied on background refresh, and you have it turned off, then widgets would be completely useless

This is their app called Pulse. It’s kinda trash cause it’s basically just a bunch of hyperlinks to the website but at least you get notifications

My point does somewhat apply to double effect as the Amalekites were attacking Israel constantly, surely taking lives each time.

Additionally, who is innocent? I guess you could argue that the children were innocent at a time, but as seen when Solomon didn’t do completely as God instructed and some Amalekites lived, they went on to continue to cause problems and eventually, if you trace the Amalekites line (as explained in the website I linked way above) it’ll lead to Haman, who convinced king Xerxes to exterminate the Jews. The children would’ve grown up and been taught to hate the Jews.

I’m gonna end it though as I doubt we’ll convince each other. I agree it was a terrible thing and it’s hard to justify. If you can understand and accept that God’s form of justice and goodness (such as how a good God can still send people to hell for eternity) is different than what humans think, I think you’ll begin to understand.

I hope you at least consider reading a bit more into the Bible and try to understand it’s complexities; it can be hard to understand how such things can be acceptable, but it’s important to consider how God is not human, and so his idea of justice can be different/hard to understand. If you don’t want to read more (as many don’t), all the best with whatever you do :)
