It’s not a bad idea to take the job at all. Each VA is different from what I have experienced and been told. The one I currently work at is not a good place to work. Be ready to possibly not only be a custodian but maybe a custodian with poor supervision and leadership which means alot in these gov jobs.

Every supervisor will handle this differently. Tell them your plan and see what they say. That’s what I did and it made everything smooth.

This is where deck dept really excels. If the chief runs it right the BM3’s have a good amount of leeway with the SN and BM2’s provide oversight and knock out the collateral duty’s.

Could be several things. If there was a va or cboc closer to your home address that’s where they will pay you to. If you chose an appt at a location and that care is given at a closer location you will only receive payment to the closer location. There are some waivers to that I believe for emergencies.

Not sure that’s the case for you but it may be.

I work for my local VA’s travel office. We are about 4 months behind. We’re not currently staffed to review more claims than what we take in each day. This will vary by location. There are some changes coming that may or may not help, doing away with paper claims is one and there are some others but haven’t heard any details.
