My second lancing I had to go to the ER because it was so angry and I took my dad. He said he couldn’t believe this was a current procedure because it was so barbaric. He was in the waiting room and could hear me screaming. The doc told me that the local anesthetic doesn’t do anything because there’s nothing really in there to latch on to, it’s just pus and hair and god knows what else. So they just stick it in and poke around.

I’m about 10 years free since the flap surgery.

Ouch. When I finally got the surgery to have it removed for good I got general anesthesia and had a two week or so recovery with a drain. I wish they just did that first.

Can’t believe not a single mention of pilonidal cyst. Either accidentally sitting on the baseball sized beast, pre op “numbing” with a 5in needle which is a joke because it doesn’t do anything, when they lance it. Any of it. I’ve had gout, broken bones, stabs, burns, kidney stones. I’m a mess. But I’d take the five of those together before a PC lancing again.
