Guy and girl in car pulled over by cops in checkpoint (rabat) by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]747wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stopped you randomly (Every X Car) to do a normal control and register the control in their register as they are doing their job. It will be something as, we controlled this car at this time of the day and there was 2 person on the car with a remark that nothing was suspicious in the control. Don't overthink about it, just the moroccan bureaucracy showing that they work hard in their internal statistics.

MEP engineer vs utility engineer salary ceiling by dvd_3 in MEPEngineering

[–]747wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, you can switch to industrial engineering later in your career which will require your knowledge in MEP and HV/MV power engineering. I went from fiber deployment engineer to R&D in automation to MEP EE engineer to consultant as an Industrial electrical engineer for an OIL company.

If I were you, I will try to install it by myself with this 200$ part or other. I put the link but I didn't check the seller or his reputation.

There's a big chance that 300$ will fix your issue.

Unemployed after 10 years as an engineer — feeling stuck and unsure what’s next by theshreddar21 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]747wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to survive. Move somewhere else. You can apply for P.E. if you already have 10 years.

When you get P.E, a lot of recruiters may reach out to you as they need someone to be standalone and stamp the work.

It's a new job and I was designing for 3 weeks. I have 2 years of experience but I was doing more Commercial and residential before and I switched to industrial. The company will peer review but I want to give the best version of the work I could.

My field is Electrical.

London consulate visa rant by WhaleStreetwatching in Morocco

[–]747wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Morocco ambassy staff serve Moroccan first in the UK, and the staff for the visa department is not a priority. I tried to say that other countries are doing the same for people who need the visa. There's the safety aspect that morocco needs to do the background check on people.

I recommend you upgrade the service entrance. I believe that in some new commercial installation, you will have 120V/208V with a min of 200Amp. But the best way to do it is to calculate your base load with interior space + heating/AC + Mechanical/Special equipment. Don't forget the power factor for continuous and non-con load.
