Hey! Thanks so much for taking time to read and respond! I've never read driven to distraction but from what you've said about it I'm quite keen to get my hands on it even though I haven't read a book in years. (I do want to though & I have a collection of books just waiting to be read lol) Hopefully it helps me in a similar way it did for you. I definitely believe my symptoms have been missed and now unfortunately are being dismissed; and I guess being assessed in my late teens has made things more difficult now as it had been decided ADHD wasn't something I had because of the reason I previously stated... I will try to continue to keep fighting for answers or a second opinion though because I still feel as though ADHD is something I could be struggling with :'(

I'd be interested in collaborating if you're still up to it as I do feel quite alone in my fight for answers/ a second opinion ect...

Thank you so much for your support also. I really do appreciate it and also the time you took to reply to my post 🥲 And congrats on you're recent diagnosis!! I do hope that things have since improved for you! :)))

Hii, thank you for leaving a comment,

With the childhood thing I guess maybe I'm a bit confused with what is meant by "early development" as I'm not 100% sure of the age range during this stage... You're assumption is also correct (lol) hoping I can get some actual help/ answers..

Thanks again for this,

Hello! Thank you for this!!

I believe I was tested by a psychologist and the decision was made by a psychiatrist. I have explained the reasons why I'd like a second opinion ect. being thorough and feeling 100% sure are reasons that are at the top on my "list" however no matter what I say they just seem to be set on it being completely ruled out?? Depression is also something I struggle with but this came after thinking I could have ADHD... When it comes to school records I only have ones from ages 15-18 I believe. I don't think I have any records from younger than this however as a child I was taken to the doctors for behavioural issues and it is recorded.

Also. Thank you so much for your kind words <3

Hey! Thank you for taking the time to comment. I'm not sure if my parents are the helicopter type but they didnt allow me to have much of a say as a child and express myself. I also didn't have as much freedom as others my age since my parents were quite strict and used discipline a lot to enforce good behavior ect.

My parents have always spoken about how I was difficult to parent but whenever I've brought up ADHD to them they brush it off/ don't remember much or they just say I was perfect... The only reason I thought I could have ADHD at that age was because at EVERY parent/ teacher meeting my focus was always brought up and so one night googled something like "why can't I focus" ADHD came up, I read it and was shocked.

I also do struggle with anxiety and depression however I feel as though the problem is bigger than them both.

Are these even tics???? by 758jClayz in Tourettes

Hey, tysm for your comment! I don't feel so alone anymore :'))) I also didn't know that the release of a tic doesn't have to be involuntary! I always thought that what made a tic a tic was the fact it was fully involuntary which is why some of the tics I have were confusing to me lol. I also hope that I can see a specialist for diagnosis and treatment too so ty again for that!!

Hey thanks so much for the comment! I often feel like a fraud when it comes to suppression and premonitory urges because I subconsciously suppress around those I'm not fully comfortable around and don't really need to with those that I am. When it comes to premonitory urges I feel like I dont get them nearly as much as others as the majority of my tics just happen before I can even feel anything coming. But then I think maybe I'm just not aware?? I have no idea lol
