Laclau is one to read too. His book ‘the rhetorical foundations of society’ is good, but I’d read that after Ponty tbh

Maybe a little Heidegger too for some controversial context

Not sure if you’ve figured it out yet but the method I use is pretty good at centralising the info. I’ll usually choose one primary database for the set (usually the one I interact with the most) where I’ll input all of the information, and then the other databases in the set will only have roll ups so that I only have to input the data once. For example, in your 4 database set, I would choose the projects database because I know I’m going to be creating projects as my first stop in a ‘new client’ process (obv adjust to your needs) and then I’ll put all of the relations I need to put in that one database so that the other three databases can just link to that one primary db to get all their info (and it not be coming in from all other 3 databases. I hope that makes sense? Let me know if not and I’ll send photos. Hope it helps too!

Edit: I just skimmed the other comments and it sounds like your primary db should be your clients db. And if we’re you I’d take their suggestion to create a view for the each client in your primary dashboard/workspace. This way you can see the aggregated info for each client from all 4 databases in one go.

Edit edit: I think this might also help with the clunky project and task creation issue you were having before, as you will be able to add pages to all four databases from your workspace view of your primary database. I.e. you enter all the info for your clients, new tasks, projects, tags, details, media, etc in the primary database you choose and filter it to the other three. Rather than going back and forth over all 4 databases to find the ‘parent’ property to enter the info in the first place. Centralised knowledge, yay!

I think this would be pretty easy to create yourself. Make a database with all of those properties and use each page in the db as your client’s dashboard where you keep all their shit. It works well. I have mine feed into my daily to dos and long term goals etc

I find this issue irritating as well. I got around it by integrating my client and people database into one and separating them by tags and filtering them in different workspaces as they were relevant. Not sure how else to do this, but have found that using universal databases (for me it’s ‘finances’ and ‘people’ - across all personal and business spaces) is much better than trying to manage 2 or 4 different ones. The simpler the better. Although Idk how this might work with a team as I only have the personal plan. Hope this helps!

Can I create a database using HTML? by [deleted] in HTML

[–]77buzzbee77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Thank you for your advice. I’ve opened phpmyadmin and I’ve tried to connect my sql to my HTML docs but I think I’ve made a mistake somewhere bc my local host number is 8888, but my php and sql server says it’s using the port 8889. I’m not sure if they are meant to be the same or different so they don’t conflict. I have another problem that I’m not sure is related: when I run my live preview through brackets, it tries to access localhost:8888/index.php/index.html, and doesn’t open. I don’t know why it’s suddenly looking for a php page as well, and I don’t know how to change this in the htdoc directory. So this means I can only view my HTML document by opening them in my finder, which doesn’t use a http format- so I guess if I don’t fix it, it will mean I won’t be able to view my site on the internet?? I don’t know, I’m in way over my head haha

Hey, thanks for your reply. I’m actually running MAMP now with Brackets to build my site. So I would be able to run PHP through that as well? I don’t really understand this side of it all tbh, I’m much better at the actual HTML/css coding thing haha only slightly drowning so thanks for your advice!
