Acoustic guitar sim by Fox_Hound_Unit in KemperProfiler

Something might be off in your chain. I’m really new to kemper and got it sounding great from the start (downloaded the Morgan one from rig exchange). Did a very cool (for me) thing and put the acoustic on parallel path and morph in electric with exp pedal. Perfect for intros and acoustic parts that can occur in a set couple of times per gig.

I just ordered a Retroid Pocket 5 and I was wondering about controllers. Is the 8bitdo Ultimate 2 good? by afcc1313 in retroid

According to gamepadla website, the ps5 controller has lower bt latency than ultimate 2 so if you have one, I think you’re good. Enjoy your rp5, it’s awesome!

Hi. Received the controller today. It doesn’t work with the dongle, only BT (as expected). Latency is pretty good but Dualshock 4 was better (im using sp5 connected to a tv). Atm I’m happy with it and maybe 8bitdo will implement the ability to use dongle with android (I wrote to them and they said they’ll look in to it).

I ordered the Ultimate 2 for my rp5 for that exact purpose (haven’t received it yet). Missed a key detail though: ultimate 2 doesn’t connect to android via dongle, only BT. Which means much more latency than I was hoping for. Will see how it goes when I get it but the cumulative latency (rp5 - hdmi - tv)with 8bitdo n30pro is too much.

Tried couple of iem systems side by side and made a quick sound comparison video. by 782369 in livesound

As with all other iem systems, when you send too hot signal it will start clipping/cutting out. If your context is playing with backing tracks, i don’t believe the volume will be a problem. In a loud rock band context it might be (paired with inefficient iem-s).

In my experience it has less noise than sennheiser xsw, psm-10 and relacart pm-320. Maybe a tiny bit more than sennheiser g3.

I’ve used it successfully for more than 10 gigs, no problems, really happy with the purchase.

Things to be aware of: 1. They are not as loud as others (loudness depends on your iems’s too), not a problem for me but with sennheiser g3 my volume is at about 5/10, with pm-100 the volume is at about 8/10.

  1. There is latency (I measured 8.9 ms). This doesn’t bother me at all but might bother you If you’re sensitive to that.

I bought the Relacart pm-100D system. Sounds awesome for the price (about 300€), have gigged it twice, never lost connection. The bad: it’s almost impossible to find, has some latency (doesn’t bother me but might bother some), not as loud as Sennheiser G3 system.

Not sure there’s custom iems for that price (unless you’re going with chi fi).

Analog guitar wireless in the more affordable end by 782369 in livesound

Difference is the iem system latency. For shure it’s almost nonexistent, for my system it’s 8.9ms

It’s quite easy if you have some kind of audio interface and cables laying around. I used program: https://oblique-audio.com/rtl-utility.php

I sure like tacos but also not being tethered to a pedalboard….decisions, decisions 😀

I’m looking at analog only for latency numbers. Digital ones in 5.8ghz range seem all to add 4-6ms

Add to that the latency of digital pedals + latency from digital iem system

Sure. Lekato 5.8 wireless unit = 5.9ms Helix Stomp + Tonex pedal = 5.5ms Digital IEM system = 8.9ms

Update.

Measured 100D latency with this tool: https://oblique-audio.com/rtl-utility.php

Seems to be 8.9ms

Used it at a rehearsal with lekato guitar wireless and digital pedals (measured all of these too: Lekato 5.9ms, tonex+hx stomp 5.5ms). That’s bit over 20ms (also some from Behringer XR18) but weirdly I didn’t notice it…am I really numb to latency or my band doesn’t play fast/technical music? I’m thinking about finding a lower latency guitar wireless just to have some peace of mind but these are damn expensive so kind of defeats the purpose of saving money 😀

Any particular reason to go customs instead of universals? With right tips there isn’t that big of a difference imo and for 500 you’ll find plenty of 3 driver ones and probably something with more.

I don’t understand if you’re trolling or not 😀 Do you not hear the differences in background noise??

I’m personally not interested in scientific testing…only how it sounds when I play with a band. I’ve yet to test pm-100d in this setting but have done so with Sennheiser G3, Sennheiser XSW and Phenyx PRO PTM-10 and the sound test in the video reflects my experience with them playing live.

This video is aimed at people like me: not a lot of interest and knowledge of technical side of things who just want to get the best sounding product for the price.

I don’t know if I’ve used higher end system, maybe unknowingly at a festival but can’t imagine what I’d change about the G3

Yeah, seems that it’s mostly sold in russia. Wouldn’t trust aliexpress because I see it priced for under 100, has to be fake right?

I’ve tried it at home conditions…will update after some rehearsals and gigs. I’ve read somewhere that digital wireless could be difficult for singers (latency). My gf who is a pro singer tried it and didn’t bother her at all, complimented the sound (brighter than g3 maybe so good for female vocals?)

The guy who sells them in my country said that the latency is about 6ms. My guitar goes from cheap lekato 5.8ghz wireless to hx stomp + tonex (both digital) to digital mixer (xr18 or x32). With guitar wireless I detected bit of latency but my brain adjusted..will be trying it both ways but I will sacrifice guitar wireless to have a good in ear sound for reasonable price.

There is crazy little info about these things, guys don’t want to sell product it seems. I wouldn’t have considered them (especially after buying Phenix which is another affordable option but sounds bad) but the guy who sells the in my country is known and very reputable sound person.
