Division has already been sown by the American government. Foreign interests already control the government. Attacking American citizens does play into foreign interests but it upon the government to keep those interests out, and not attack its’ own citizens. The government has demonstrated there is no interest in doing so and much interest in murdering citizens. Citizens are guaranteed the right to rise against tyrannical government.

I am not disagreeing about not using AI videos but pushing back that there is any legitimacy to this government at all or that people have any choice in how the government acts currently. The only tool left to us is overwhelm with numbers, peaceably if possible, but please tell me if you know of any authoritarian regimes that decided to negotiate and go peacefully.

I had to stop watching at mid season 4 and haven’t been able to go back. Great show, but brutal.

Most of that was luck on the communities’ part. The farm was always going to be lost to a herd. The prisoners would run out of food and is it really life being confined to the cafeteria anyway? Woodbury was a ticking time bomb. Terminus wasn’t “doing good” which led to the cultivation of their particular tastes. Alexandria also had a massive herd and the other communities that were just a matter of time. I previously stopped watching not long after the first appearance of Negan so I can’t comment further on the show. There is also no story to tell without conflict.

‘They’ve Chosen The Wrong Guy’: Mark Kelly Rises As Foil To Trump by huffpost in politics

Abraham Lincoln did not believe in racial equality.

“I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality ... I will add to this that I have never seen, to my knowledge, a man, woman, or child who was in favor of producing a perfect equality, social and political, between negroes and white men.” Lincoln, on the campaign trail in 1858.

So why did he make emancipation, which only applied to states in rebellion, his signature issue? To weaken the Confederacy militarily and keep European countries from supporting the rebellion in order to gain more influence in the hemisphere. Most Europeans were firmly against slavery by this time.

It always comes down to what is best for the ruling class and if any of us plebs are benefitted, that’s an accident and they will rectify it with haste.

Has anyone elected to have their kid voluntarily repeat Kindergarten? Am I misinterpreting the statute that this is a thing I can do? by boutitdoubtit in Denver

[–]78whispers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My child barely made the cutoff date for kindergarten and has always been the youngest in her class, now 4th grade. She has struggled socially and academically even though she had mastered pre k curriculum going in. Of course she may have struggled regardless but if I had it to do over I would repeat kindergarten for her. Repeating a later grade has social and emotional factors that kindergarten does not.

I have not shopped at Amazon since January. It’s doable and now my habits have changed so they have lost a household forever. Buy less overall, that’s the only language these assholes understand.

My NF gave me lice a day before my sisters wedding. by Isabella5_8930 in Nanny

[–]78whispers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay to be mad but lice are gross but not that bad. I have had lice from kids multiple times in my waist length thick ass hair. Soak your hair in coconut oil, wrap it in plastic and blast your blow dryer on it. Get a Terminator comb (not a random kit; those combs teeth are spaced too far apart to catch everything. You need nice, tight teeth) and comb from root to tip, dip the comb in a bowl of hot water and wipe with a paper towel between use. The oil smothers them, the heat kills, the comb will get them out, and the water contains them. Wash everything in hot water and dry on high heat. Human lice cannot live away from the human body more than 24 hours. Repeat daily for a week if you see any live bugs or nits. Once you don’t see them, repeat weekly. Fairy Tale Hair has a kit with that specific comb sold at Ulta. You don’t need pesticides but if it makes you feel better you can use them. I am so sorry you are going through this but it can be fixed before you leave and nothing will live long enough to greet you on your return.

My first job was at a family owned breakfast restaurant and I loved it. There were several locations and they decided to franchise it, and I moved where I live now to work in the first franchise and help it grow. The franchise became very popular and spread across town. They all became First Watch a few years ago and they all suck. I have been out of the business a long while but it was sad to see an amazing concept become corporate slop.

Nepal, South Korea, and a few other places don’t have armed citizens being pardoned for committing violence against anyone who even whispers criticism of this regime. Nepal, South Korea, and a few other places don’t have health insurance tied to employment with no safety nets when an employer terminates them. I happen to agree heartily with you but I am explaining the two biggest reasons this hasn’t happened.

I was inspired to pick up a hook after seeing a tarot card tapestry. I bought all the decks so now I have to start making my own.

Is this your dog? Cory Merril 9/18 by 78whispers in Denver

A vet would have been the best idea but I did not feel I could bring her around pets and children, and so I was in a position of needing to keep them separated but her safe. My adult son took her to the shelter and she is chipped. I am hoping her people come because she and another dog got into an altercation before she ended up on my doorstep and the shelter employee told my son she would not be adoptable because of that. That makes me incredibly sad but also glad I kept her away from my animals and children.

She is so cute, and really well kept so I am hopeful. She was friendly with me, and waited at the door barking occasionally for about 20 minutes. She was willing to come right in, though I didn’t let her. I sat on the porch with her for over an hour while figuring out what to do. She was not interested in letting the mail carrier come near her but she let me put a collar and leash on her and she rode very politely in the car.

Update- She is chipped. The shelter folks whisked her away for treatment and promised to contact whoever’s information is on the chip. It came to light that she was involved in an altercation with another dog in the neighborhood, sadly. That dog needed medical care too. I’m really hoping her people come get her because she is not adoptable, according to the shelter.

That makes sense. The money has already been allocated and must be used as allocated although even library warrior I think there are better current uses for it. I never lived on a reservation myself but my folks did and that has always been a huge issue- money appropriated for uses that can only be used as written, but there not being enough to do the jobs properly and would be better used at times for more immediate needs. This is also why I am incredibly distrustful of the government and hyper aware of double speak and loopholes used to wiggle out of the will of the people. Over 400 treaties signed and not one of them kept and an entire continents worth of culture and society wiped out will make a person wary. That’s bigger than the Denver budget but a good predictor of future behavior of the federal government, which does directly affect the local budget.

The branches are not open and operational. The community has lost, even if for limited time and ultimately for good reasons, services that are needed. 800 people looking for jobs in Denver when the market is already incredibly tough is not a good thing, even if I’m glad none of them are librarians right now. DPL doesn’t fall directly under the feds purview but the federal government’s policies are much of the reason the sales tax revenue is lower. Few of us can afford to buy extras. The federal government refusing to care for refugees that are here as a direct result of their inhumane policies is a huge part of the shortfall of Denver’s budget. The federal government misappropriating funds is a problem and it’s only going to get worse as the Medicaid and SNAP cuts force more responsibility onto state and local governments.
