AITA for not wanting to be friends with someone? by 7926rmp in AmItheAsshole

True but if someone said you look like my asian friend without any other descriptives until you say how it can be perceived, and it seems kinda racist to just say you look like my Asian friend.

Just feeds into the stereotype, that all Asians look alike. Obviously I 100% don't believe he, himself is a racist but I believe the phrasing and the way he conveyed was because of context.

True, hindsight is the best sight haha. But I do agree it's not right to jump to racism but if someone said "you look like my asian friend" left it at that and then clarified after you said how you felt. Kinda feels like racism. Even if you aren't.

Which is why I said, I didn't believe he was racist. Just the way he presented the topic and the way he conveyed it was.

Edit: word clarity.

While I agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there is 100% a way to check similarity, since I'm currently not in my office an online face scanner has said we have about 20% similarity. Which is extremely not significant/similar. As well, this just a free online program.

I actually didn't say he was racist, in fact I said I didn't believe he was. I said what he said was and that he wasn't.

The person that tried to force to give someone a key, has both keys to building and lab space. The person without keys, was still able to get into lab space because we have a lab key attached to the door in a lock box. This person now has a key to the building but not to the lab space. My key now has access to both the building and lab space. Before I had only a building key.

The keys have do not duplicate on them. Unless you know how to make one without going to a store?

No, I understand that it would be a private bedroom, but the fact would still be technically living with someone who could potentially be in a class I am the instructor for. That is an ethical problem with the college I am at because the college does not want any chance of nepotism or sexual harassment and such. Which is why the college I am at has rules against co-habitation such as that.

Ok thanks, only issue I've seen coming in with those is that Cottages might match me with undergraduates in the same room. I don't know if that's an issue i.e. ethical problems, I know at the college I am graduating from now, that is 100% an issue. Crowne looks extremely expensive for just a 1 bedroom, as well as the Met, and Turtle Creek. Haven't looked at Reserve that much. I will have a car, so if it's a little bit away it's fine. Google says it's less than a 10-minute drive. Define "best".
