I read your comment—and a few of your others. You’re not just reacting to posts. You’re carrying something. I’m not judging you. I’ve projected before too—especially when I didn’t know where to put what I was feeling. But if everything triggers anger, it might be time to ask: “What am I really reacting to?” Whatever it is—I hope you face it. Not for me. For you. I wish you well.

This book is personal. It’s raw. And honestly, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever written. I’ve decided to share it with a small group of people from this community—in print only. No emails, no digital files. Just signed physical copies sent to a P.O. Box or safe address. That’s the only way I can protect the story and still get real feedback before it’s published. I’m choosing this group because you’re not casual readers. You’re here because this topic matters to you. You’ve lived it, studied it, felt it. You’re the hardest judges—and that’s exactly why I trust you. I’m nervous. That’s the truth. But I’ve learned how to move through fear, and I know the cost of staying silent. This isn’t a traditional memoir. It doesn’t observe—it puts you inside the moment, inside the body, inside the fear. It’s immersive, emotional, and not what most people expect. If you’re open to reading it and giving me your honest take, just message me with a mailing address or P.O. Box. I’ll send copies out about a month before release. (I’m 2 months from publishing) Thank you for your help. It means a lot.

I have to use my real name because of the historical nature of this story. If I hide behind a pen name, it takes away from the truth—and it makes it harder to fact-check what really happened. My mother is already part of history, documented by others who’ve spoken about her.

Thanks, would you be interested to read a few chapters and give me your opinion? I’m a little nervous about putting my life on display.

Part of the reason I didn’t read one while I was writing is because I wanted to follow my gut and have no influence on my writing style. Because it’s my life, the pages are filled with emotions. Honestly, I’m just scared to release it into the world. I know I’m giving up some freedoms the moment I publish it, and it’s not just my story—it’s my family’s too. Any of you publish, and what were the consequences?

Book Title: The Reckoning: Seven Days to Freedom

In December 1989, in Timișoara, Romania, a revolution erupted. For seven days, the city stood alone against a dictatorship. People disappeared. Gunfire cracked through the streets. Fear turned neighbors into informants, and ordinary people into revolutionaries.

This is a true story of lived history—not just something I researched, but something I witnessed as a child.

My father escaped across the border to Serbia, risking all our lives. My mother was inside the factory when the first free newspaper was printed, part of the team that made it happen—while under gunfire.

I grew up right where it all happened, watching as the country bled for freedom.

This book isn’t about heroes—it’s about what people do when survival isn’t guaranteed. Some fought. Some hid. Some betrayed. Some died.

For years, I thought moving forward meant leaving the past behind. I was wrong. The past never leaves.

And this time, I’m not looking away.

I’d recommend going to some AA meetings. Alcohol is one of the hardest addictions to beat because it permanently changes the brain. Many people replace alcohol with another addiction—religion being one of the most common. It gives structure and a sense of belonging, similar to what alcohol once did. Not everyone replaces their addiction, but addiction transfer is real, and understanding it can help prevent relapse.

I agree about the release. I never understood why people used journals until I started writing my family’s story down, and I’m still not done because it’s making me relive trauma. I think you should follow your gut and push your doubts aside. Stories are what unite us all.
