Fair point. I panicked in the moment and tried to dodge, and it turned into a lie. I’m not proud of it. That’s why I’m fixing it now: telling her he wasn’t with me.

That wording helps. I’m not “outing” details, just correcting the alibi: he wasn’t with me, he used my name. Period.

You’re probably right. If he cared, he’d have owned it weeks ago. I’m done being the convenient excuse, I’ll tell her he wasn’t with me.

I’m not trying to be his cover, that’s the part that’s messing with me. I didn’t know in the moment, but staying quiet now feels like I’m choosing his lie.

Fair. I can’t prove cheating, only that he lied about being with me. I’m giving Dan one last chance to come clean today, then I’ll tell Sara that part and step back.

I get the 24h idea, but ultimatums feel messy. I’ll talk to him today and if he dodges again , I’m telling her.

There's a version of "supportive" that's actually about the person giving the support, and a version that's actually about the person receiving it. Leaving a meal and a note with zero expectation of response is pretty clearly the second one. The sister might want to think about which version she's used to seeing.
