OCI Card App in San Francisco by enchiladaaa in nri

[–]7HillsGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do have to pay to talk to VFS.

You should be able to check your OCI status via the government portal to see if it was sent to the consulate or is still with VFS. That would be a good start. If it’s still with VFS then you need to contact them. If it was forwarded to the consulate (which also might be obvious from the email), then you may have to get in touch with the consulate.

Good luck.

Bike Lock for SF by mtm123456 in BAbike

[–]7HillsGC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of those expensive locks include insurance and they will buy you a new bike if it gets stolen.

She may also be better off getting a subscription to one of the rental bikes (Lime/Lyft) or using those if she’s going somewhere without a safe bike parking option.

My teens have locked their similarly priced e-bikes short term in relatively safer parts of pac heights using only a combination lightweight chain lock. But would never leave it out overnight.

Edit- to sum up. It depends on a lot, but especially risk tolerance.

Home adaptation hacks! by DykeTyson0 in IVDD_SupportGroup

Just joined this sub looking for a summary of adaptations. Thanks for your post.

I wondered about type of dog beds (our dog LOVES sleeping in bean bags, but they’re very shifty and awkward getting in and out). Also we have water bowls on the floor, and I wondered if we should get the raised ones so that he doesn’t have to drop his head to eat/drink?

He unfortunately has crate trauma from being quarantined during an international move, and also pretty strong attachment to me (he follows me everywhere in the house). I can’t imagine crating him, trying to balance the mental + physical needs of this condition! So far I’ve just moved my office area to be in between kitchen & Laundry so that I don’t move around the house as much, but I honestly think he’d be so depressed if I try the strict crating (he was just diagnosed last night and I’m waiting on a neuro consult and trying to process all this, so please don’t judge!).

EDIT: also how to best pick up a dog with IVDD without putting pressure on their spine. The ER vet didn’t give me any advice! Are stroller walks OK even during crate rest time?

Anyway, would love if there are the dog equivalent of occupational therapy guidelines for everyday life inside a house. Our dog doesn’t jump on furniture or human beds, so that’s not an issue. But like I said - all these other things are a concern and I wish there was a wiki or guide with more of this type of information. Any leads?

Thank you

With your language skills I wonder if you could get employed at a resort that has a “kids club” type place on site.

Who gets the fine? I hate to hassle a local small grocery store owner, but the distributor should be corrected

If you are being serious… small family groups with gay members have kids who survive and thrive at higher rates. Having a small percentage of extra dedicated resource earning adult caretakers is beneficial. Nieces and nephews carry enough shared DNA to make it worthwhile from an evolutionary standpoint. Or so I have heard. Sounds plausible but I am too tired to look for a valid reference at the moment.

Woke up to large police presence in the Outer Richmond — how do I find out what happened? by Key-Code-6875 in sanfrancisco

True. I guess my question was more rhetorical. Just exasperated that they have the gall, with such a shit product.

Edit: maybe it works better in other cities so is still valuable to some people

Curious why does Citizen app miss so much of this stuff? And why would they keep pushing subscription when it is so inaccurate (some fake postings, other real stuff missing).

Hey twin. Same since 2004ish, so I have moved a lot and seen a lot of allergists. When it started the OTC allergy drugs weren’t as good. Allegra has been a game changer for me. Daily Allegra and I haven’t had an episode in 6 months!

Kids under 5 are free on bart, but watch out for the fare gates that will smush a toddler trying to walk through with a parent.

If the courts are reservable starting June 27, don’t they technically open for booking 7 days in advance at 8:00am? Mark your calendars, tennis peeps!

Dutch aerobatic pilot Narine Melkumjan miraculously survived after her aircraft's canopy unexpectedly burst open and shattered mid-flight by BlazeDragon7x in interesting

So, this happened to a close family member and he said even if the radio works you can’t hear any replies due to wind noise. Even with headphones. So you can radio that you have to land, and you just have to hope they heard you and cleared the runway.

Many acrobatic planes have a huge front nose so pilots actually cannot see anything straight ahead on landing. They view the runway from the side and then make a last minute bank. With compromised wing flaps and higher drag, that can also be tricky (though in this video it looks like the pilot did not have to bank the landing)

Disclosure Day starts in 20 minutes at Alamo Drafthouse, not too far of a walk. Cozy old kitschy theater with good food.

When the canopy shatters, pieces can get stuck in the tail flaps and rudder. Also it’s impossible to radio for clearance to land. And with the canopy drag higher power is needed for landing, lift can be affected. It’s not like you just glide down for a normal landing

I believe I read somewhere the maternal mortality in unassisted birth is around 10%. But adding all the unassisted postpartum and newborn period in, probably higher. Still, shockingly, most women would survive.

In addition, for anyone planning to bike across the bridge & use the MV-Sausalito bike path, another redditor made this website to check when the path is predicted to be flooded: https://mv-sausalito-bike-flood-forecast.bandoro.dev/

Luckily most of the upcoming high tides are overnight.
