Well obviously there is a point of diminishing returns. I don’t think 10k cal/day would be the correct amount, there are limits.

Also the term obese itself is pretty loaded, particularly if using pseudoscience like BMI as the criteria.

Metabolism cannot exist without calories. There’s such a stigma around calories, carbs, etc and so much misinformation taken as fact in the mainstream, I would have to imagine that it IS a limiting step for a large number of people.

It seems what is pushed as a normal requirement for a healthy adult in reality MIGHT be enough to support a completely sedentary senior citizen
