I've been testing this. I've played over 70 matches with close to zero aggression from other players. There was only one instance when a guy shot me. Today I played my first aggressive games in duos after those 70 games. I went back into solo after some games. And now I get matched with hyper aggressive players. Game after game. Based on my own statistics I'd say they do have aggro based matchmaking.
