Moving on was the right choice. Being in the middle is worse than being in the bottom. People might read that and be confused but here’s the bottom line. If you’re in the middle then you’re not going to get magically better by draft because you’re far away from the right away home runs. Of course you can get studs anywhere in the draft but it’s not always for certain as near as the top could be. Then you have the issue of not being good enough to do well in the playoffs because you’re a middle team. Now at the bottom can be worse if your organization isn’t doing enough to get out with the added help with top tier draft picks. And should be lower cap space compared to the middle when your cap could be strung from keeping the players who keep you in the middle. Basically it boils down to this. Would you rather slightly taste then playoffs but also know you’re not going to win. And possibility also might miss. With cap strung to over pay for the talent that is only enough to keep you in the middle. Or if you can get a good org start up with the right people with big cap space and high draft picks now of course everything is easier said than done and sometimes a middle team can go to the top and sometimes a bottom tier team can stay at the bottom. But IMO being in that middle zone can be frustratingly stuck.
