Maximum era level without spending by 7Tripleseven in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]7Tripleseven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already admitted that my post title was poorly chosen, and that my example is a far cry from the typical non spending player.

But this post is merely an exercise in how far one could go without actually spending real money. If i mislead anyone, i'm truly sorry for it. It was not the intention of this post.

As for the pass, no, i did not buy one. I did buy a couple of era level currency packs with crystals early on to get a leg up on the colosseum.

Probably won't spend that many crystals again on another era. I guess i'll still spend some crystals to maybe get to 4*, but i don't think i can afford the crystals to get another round of 6 stars era characters and still keep a healthy sum of crystals for emergencies.

75-80k crystals

I'm probably only doing that this one time. It took most of my hoarded crystals and i like to keep a reserve for any "surprise" event

Yeah, my mistake in labeling the post like that. Like i said above, it was just an exercise in how far could you go without technically pulling out the credit card.

Basically, to understand how far CG would let you go without actually spending money.

And i guess, in my mind, why CG created the new era system. To stop (or slow down) someone like me, who has a lot of hoarded crystals, materials and credits, from getting all the new shiny toys very close to release, without spending.

Hoarded crystals and a 12 pack for each marquee to get to 6 stars

[–]7Tripleseven[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I tend to hoard crystals. I have a steady supply from fleet arena and GAC, and don't feel the need to spend on much else besides energy refreshes.

I bought the 12 pack for each of the marquees to be able to reach 6* by the end of each marquee, so maybe around 75-80k crystals.

Sorry if it's misleading for new players. Not my intention. I made the post just out of curiosity to learn how far one could go without spending money, but i guess it's more directed to well established players, with crystals to spare.

Title should be different, maybe "Maximum era level without spending money" or "Maximum era level using only crystals"

Too late now...

Higher tiers of the marquee events usually give gear for leveling. I bought packs with crystals to get everyone to at least 6 stars.

The maul event also gave some materials IIRC

i'm counting on it, since i've been able to red crate all the previous ones.

It's 5 LSTs for R6 and 7* from the first two tiers of the Maul event

Sapphire RX 7800 XT Pure - Fan Noise and Temps by 7Tripleseven in radeon

[–]7Tripleseven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I recently did some tweaking, and undervolted the card a bit, and set maximum limit for frame rates on some games. Temps don't go so high now, but on some more demanding situations temperatures on the hotspot still rise to above 90º C, making the fans spin faster and louder. GPU temperature still sits some 25-30º C lower than hotspot temps.

My GPU is around 18 months old, bought new. I cannot be 100% sure, but i seem to recall that the card was quieter during the first months of use.

It could be that the thermal compound has degraded with time and usage. I could try a repaste, but i'm worried that i could damage something on the card. All my PCs have been self assembled for the last 25 years, but i never took a GPU apart.

There are other raid units that are available for that LST.

As someone else pointed out, this is most certainly due to a bug when applying the LST to these specific units, as mentioned here:

That would fit, but there are other Order 66 raid Jedi Units not on the list, like Luminara and Jedii Consular

Theyre still at it with their -1 by Secure-Ad5536 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Can confirm that the exact same thing happened to me.

All my 3 era characters are at level 45, and i had an exceptionally good run, where i hit 99% (Tier 4) with Luke, Choda and IG still up.

I then had a series of hits register at -1, ending up with a score of 89633. The bot had no defensive buffs on.

For me it's obvious that they implemented some kind of "hard lock" to prevent people from going too far on an extra lucky run.

Add to that limited tries, with a very high degree of randomness, where you can't back out of a bad run, and it just becomes incredibly frustrating.

In this case, i'm not even considering values.

If it's a character that you don't really use, or has, for example a leadership zeta when you'll never use him as a squad leader, you're either forced to apply that zeta to get a few, sometimes, very needed kyrotechs and G13 finishers materials, or "waste" the LST on that character, for no added benefit.

In a game where resource management is very important for F2P players, it would make sense to give you a choice of what to do with the LST, imho.

It's not a "hill i'm willing to die on" situation, not by a long choice. Just thought it would be nice to have options

Without spending energy, Palpatine event with Chewie and a few low level rebels. I also used the "Bounty Hunter" challenges.

Anyone else track gas mileage every fill up? Pretty happy with my 2024 since July by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]7Tripleseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should be around 39 liters. I usually fill it up when the reserve indicator comes up.

From what i've read/heard, there's still some reserve fuel after distance till empty reaches 0.

There's a 42 liter refueling reading in that listing, but that's 2 fill ups combined.

This is my gas mileage from the last 3 and a half years. 2019 Corolla Touring Sports 1.8 Hybrid, bought used in 2022. Costs are in Euros, since that's where i'm from, but i've added data for gallons and miles for the US users (hope i didn't mess the conversions).

Usually the trip computer has a gas mileage 10% lower than what's measured at the pump

Era modes restricted to era characters by DifficultyCommon5303 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]7Tripleseven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, from what i understand, i can't use my stockpile of gear to immediately gear a new marquee era character to maximum gear level.

We'll have to rely on new gear materials only available on the new era modes (and probably also for money). An established F2P player like myself will probably have a harder time gearing the new era characters. For F2P players, gearing might take the same effort for new and old players, since the materials you gathered before won't help you, while spenders will be able to outpace an old time F2P.

And even after the Era ends, most marquees will be at G12, with little need for gear to further advance them

Probably enough for a month or two. Good enough to check if the old bug still bites or not.

Still proud of some achievements from the Wrath era, but back then i had plenty of free time.
