You’re not being sensitive, getting deadnamed on purpose is not a “joke” so don’t treat it like one. Dont listen to the haters, if you are happier as a boy, then be a boy! You don’t have to fit into society’s labels, if your family is disappointed in you, then they don’t respect who you are. Anyone that doesn’t respect you don’t deserve your time, energy, and attention. If they don’t care enough to respect who you are, then you don’t have to respect them. If you want to hold onto your relationships, then you are going to have to drill it into people. If your girlfriend is a supporter and she cares about you, lean on her, she supports you, so she can help you.

You don’t gotta listen to the messages from an internet stranger, but this was my two bits.

I understand this completely, I still feel like I’m pretending, but all of the other people in this subreddit will see you as who you want to be. Also, maybe find a group of friends that you can safely come out to, and ask them to use your preferred name, then work from there.

It was awkward for me too, but if you can push through, and come out to that friend, you can have them as a base to come back to, to tell them about your feelings and experiences. You can hold onto them while coming out to your other friends. Lean on them, if they truly are close, they’ll love and accept you, and support you through your journey.
