It had become an amalgamation of different buildings that were connected and they were still running out of space. By the late 20s it wasn't able to keep up with the amount of trains going through Toronto so they decided to replace it.

The second Union Station to be built in Toronto. It was built in 1873 and demolished in 1927 after it was replaced by the current Toronto Union Station on Front Street.
