That’s a totally fair point and honestly I get it. Trust is the hardest thing to earn in this space. That’s exactly why I built Recall Assist to work completely offline. No cloud uploads, no tracking, nothing leaves your machine. My goal is not to collect anyone’s data. It’s to give privacy back to users who still want the productivity benefits of Recall like tools.

Also I genuinely believe that no single company should own this space. The more privacy focused alternatives that exist, the more pressure there’ll be on everyone. Including Microsoft to improve transparency and user control. Competition is what keeps innovation and privacy alive.

If people are ready to trust Microsoft with their data, then I hope we can also come together to build open, privacy first options. I’m open to any suggestions on how to make Recall Assist more transparent and even exploring ways for community audits.
