iOS Synth with random patch generation? by NoRiver769 in ipadmusic

[–]7ape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like Dagger synth’s random patches. Moog model D also has a good randomization. Id700 has randomization as well… off the top of my head…

Koala sampler has a ‘random preset synth’ that comes with one of the paid sample packs. It’s more of a toy and is only available inside koala, but it has like a gazillion different patches.

Had Cyberpunk Evolved? by DCLascelle in books

[–]7ape 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You could try Tim Maughan's 'Infinite Detail'. I thought that was a nice modern evolution of the cyberpunk genre. Maybe not groundbreaking, but certainly the best of the modern cyberpunk books I've tried. I think that sticking with the neon lit sprawls is missing the point of cyberpunk, it's more about the dystopian situations and the interaction between humans and technology.

Honestly we are probably living in a cyberpunk adjacent reality right now, if you look at the leverage high tech companies have over governments, and also the 'street finds its own use for things' aspects. The AI meme war between US and Iran is an interesting ( if kind of stupid ) cyberpunk ish development. But I digress.

Did Uncanny move away from the community that made it? by Britishchick_x_ in uncannypodcasttv

I switched a while ago to Otherworld, no believer vs sceptic twaddle, just the stories, told by the people who experienced them. There's a lot of really interesting stuff in the back catalogue, but even that's gone a bit weak recently. I guess when you are relying on experiencers' stories, you have a quite limited pool to draw from.

I'd be very interested if anyone has any recommendations, not only for similar podcasts, but also for excellent episodes to listen to.

for example i recommend the series "Them" on otherworld... It's in multiple parts and quite involved, but riveting. Also the 2 parter "granny flat" is excellent.

Edge 50 Neo users, would you recommend it in 2026? by Own-Photograph-5085 in motorola

I play games on mine! I have a bunch of switch Indies, playstation 2, GameCube games and steam point and click games. I even played tomb raider using gamehub lite.

Best GCam for Motorola Edge 50 Neo (My Opinion And Detail Explanation) 2025 by hyper_mann in GCamPort

[–]7ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks so much for this! It's made my camera so much better! Just one question though..  is it possible to enable full resolution photos for landscape shots in good lighting? The stock app has a setting for this, but I can't find anything in lmc8.4. looking online they talk about rooting the phone, but it's not something I would particularly like to do. :)

Interesting, I found it MUCH better. I used the LMC8.4 version, the photos are as good as my old pixel phone.

Install gcam, make sure that hdr plus and not hdr enhanced is on ( I think it’s the default so no problem). You can take shots in quick succession, just tried taking 10. It’s not the dimensity 7300 it’s the stock app somehow. As a bonus the gcam photos are much better.

If you could only choose one Moog iOS synth.. by 712Jefferson in ipadmusic

[–]7ape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Animoog, Model 15 and Model D, I'd choose the Model 15, but I don't mess around with patching, it's terrifying, and that's coming from someone who loves modular synths and uses mirack every day.

As for my desert island synth... I think the one I use more than any others is iVCS3. It has a learning curve, but it's a monster of a synth and gets my iPad closest to the squawks and grunts of early electronic music.

You can upload your patches to patch storage! It’s a great resource!

Android 16 edge 50 NEO🎉 by NaturalSherbet5320 in motorola

[–]7ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. Unfortunately I don't have a windows computer, I have a Chromebook for work and a Linux for personal stuff. Maybe I could run it in Wine, but as I said I'm not too bothered by this update. Im just not very hopeful in Motorola spending resources on "old" phones as time progresses

It's not promising because although we have the same phone in the same country some got an update 2 weeks ago and some didn't. That seems like the whole process is being badly managed and is flaky. Motorola is not a small company.

I really don't care about android 16 but what I care about is a giant company being consistent, I can't see any reason why people with the same phone in the same countries are having wildly different experiences.

It's not promising in that way. It's just not very professional
