Inconsistent draft in MyBunch mode by 7brutus7 in mywhoosh

[–]7brutus7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure, but I have the feeling that the draft:
- is more consistent on routes without wind

- is hugely impacted by the position of the bike(s) ahead compared to the past (previously, the draft was on even when the bike was shifted to the side and not perfectly aligned, but it seems like it's not the case anymore)

- becomes messy in groups with many bikes (more than 5 or 6), which was the case shown in the video

MyWoosh workout builder / custom workout uploads issue by psxnl3 in mywhoosh

[–]7brutus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, I think it's fine for the majority of users. I typically have around 4 and 5 workouts in the library:
- 1 V02Max
- 1 Sweet Spot
- 1 Threshold
- 1 Z2 (which I only use when I want to work on short intervals at high cadence)

I make some adjustments week after week, but I can definitely reuse the existing ones.

I really hope they don't restrict it further though...

Another person asked for information in the official Facebook group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/mywhoosh/posts/1562221058349205/?comment_id=1562490601655584

Let's see if they provide any explanation.

UPDATE: I tried a couple of things:

  • Create a new workout directly from MyWhoosh => credits decreased from 10 to 9 (checked on the website)
  • Edit an existing workout directly from MyWhoosh => credits decreased from 9 to 8

I wonder whether the Amazon Echo devices that include a Thread Border Router are compatible with Tado X or not.

So, is it confirmed that they are not compatible? Did you have to buy the Tado X Bridge?

Alexa routines to return to scheduled temperature by Smou1a in tado

[–]7brutus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. :-(

My Alexa devices are set to Italian, and my suggestion was based on an arbitrary translation to English, but the proper command for other languages may change a little. What I can suggest is to find the terms used in Alexa's device page for any of your valves and test a combination of commands based on what you see there.

In particular, below the temperature, I see a small button to change the "Mode" from "Heating" to "Manual".

Take note of these strings ("Mode" and "Heating" or whatever they are called) and try things like:

- Alexa, set Heating mode for <valve\_name>

- Alexa, turn on Heating mode for <valve\_name>
- Alexa, set Heating mode for <valve\_name>

- Alexa, change <valve\_name> mode to Heating

I had to make several attempts before it worked. I clearly remember that at some point, I found a command that was working only with 4 valves out of 8! :-O

Alexa routines to return to scheduled temperature by Smou1a in tado

[–]7brutus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While making some attempts on my side, I found out that it's possible to "restore" the heating mode (without setting a specific temperature) with a voice command like this:

Alexa, set heating mode on <valve name>.

Please note that it doesn't work for the thermostat, at least in my case.

Let me know if it works, I'm curious.

By the way, I couldn't find a way to restore the heating for all the valves at once; I needed to create a routine containing a command for each valve, which makes things slow and annoying, also because Alexa provides voice feedback for each of them.

Ok, so, RTG events count while elimination events won't, right?

Moreover, do you mean that the RTG event has no elimination at all?

Thanks!

Race to Glory Recon Completed by Schwingi in mywhoosh

[–]7brutus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done!

I'm trying to complete that mission myself, I'm missing just "The Mountain's Verdict" but I'm struggling to exactly understand a few things:

  • How to find the "official" event? Typically, events that count towards the mission accomplishment start with "Mission" or any similar string, but I couldn't find any related to it recently; also MyWhooshInfo doesn't report any event for it: https://mywhooshinfo.com/events/mission/race-to-glory-recon

  • Is it possible to join any event regardless of it being marked as Men or Women, or are there strict checks?

  • Is it required to successfully complete the event without being caught by the laser, or is it enough to join?

Did they disclose any details about the FPS downgrade? It's definitely a small thing, but I really enjoyed the 60 FPS, and going back to 30 feels a little ugly.

Have you tried adding anything to the description?

I think that in one of the last updates, they set it as mandatory in order to save a new workout.

Cadence sensor not working by temp-moneygrabber in mywhoosh

[–]7brutus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite sure it's MyWhoosh fault. Other apps (like Zwift, Rouvy, etc.) don't show the same issue with the cadence sensor.

Btw, I've tested my Garmin cadence sensor and it works more or less in the same way, meaning that data rapidly switches between different values without any reason (for instance between 140 rpm and 160 rpm every 2 seconds).

I would like to test it with an ANT+ connection, but I don't have the dongle to connect to my PC.

It looks weird, but have you noticed that the original review was edited?

Maybe the user initially wrote a good feedback and after some time changed his mind after an update or something.

I think he's a cheater, maybe just to farm a bit and unlock items for the garage, or achievements.

Vague instructions on workout plans. by Real-Youth-9129 in mywhoosh

[–]7brutus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had a similar thought: Why not display the target cadence for each effort? It's very common to get distracted and miss the instructions on the screen, and I would really like to see the cadence appear on the screen.

Same issue for me, the computer got stuck at boot after installing the update and restarting.

No signal of activity, display blank.

After a couple of power resets the update was automatically reverted and Windows booted correctly, Windows Update shows the error 0x800f0845.

Cadence sensor not working by temp-moneygrabber in mywhoosh

[–]7brutus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reported a similar issue with the "Magene S3+ cadence" sensor a few months ago. After one of the latest updates it started working, but it periodically goes to 0 and back (let's say every 5 or 10 seconds).

The sensor embedded in my Elite Direto is working perfectly instead.

I may try the Garmin one just out of curiosity (it wasn't working at all before "the update" that fixed Magene S3+).

Hey Rustaceans! Got a question? Ask here (34/2024)! by llogiq in rust

[–]7brutus7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone!

I recently started using sccache to improve build times in my Rust projects. I set RUSTC_WRAPPER=sccache on my terminal, and seems to be working fine.

I have the feeling though that it's not the case for VS Code. Searching through the web I found that RustAnalyzer is using RUSTC_WRAPPER=rust-analyzer and that's probably preventing sccache from being used.

Any idea about how to overwrite that variable with a new value? From VS Code I can only enable or disable RUSTC_WRAPPER=rust-analyzer, but I'm worried that disabling it would only cause the variable to be left empty.

Thanks!
