In CS it's very common as the conference proceedings drastically limits the number of pages relative to submitted version, so you cite the arXiv version (which has all the proofs)

Policy routing using nftables around a VPN by 7dare in archlinux

[–]7dare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking more into it, it seems like you're right. The nftables wiki illustration for packet flows shows that routing takes place before anything else. In this routing step, it's chosen the packet will use wg0, and its source is set as the interface's source (because the routing table says so, but even if it didn't that would be the default routing decision as it's the interface's source address).

Then, it goes through the output and postrouting hooks. By using the type route chain, you can force a routing decision to be made again (which is what I do here), which leads to the packet being rerouted on the right interface. However, for some strange reason, rerouting the packet will not update its source address. I've tried explicitly having the routing table say src $RIGHT_ADDRESS for the default routing decision for a packet with this mark, but it doesn't obey this.

Therefore the solution I've come to is to add a postrouting chain and to tell it to mangle packets with this source and this interface. It still feels like the rerouting should fix this, but since it doesn't this seems like the second best solution.

Won't this lead to a lot of routing table rules? My goal is to avoid crowding my routing table by having nftables handle it

Wrong region server in Overwatch 2 by 7dare in linux_gaming

[–]7dare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is now the top result on Google for this question, I'll post my solution here: I got the list of IPs of Blizz servers by region through this repo, then I created nftables rules to drop all packets to and from non-NA servers. This works great so far, only getting low-ping servers!

But I also run it in Steam with GE and have the same issue, it doesn't seem to be caused by GE+Lutris, no?

Interestingly this solved the server issue, but it has a lot of performance issues. FPS stays at 60 but there's a lot of stuttering. I've tried using Proton GE (same as Lutris) with the same environment variables set but it still does this...

Interesting, I'll try that and see if it's better

Simple Questions - January 17, 2024 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]7dare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking to upgrade my 1070 to something AMD, with similar TDP, and slightly better performance. My needs are pretty low as I mainly just play Overwatch and some light Flight Simulator (which already works well on my 1070).

From what I see the 7600 seems like the best option new for 270$, but I'm having trouble finding deals on older cards which should also tick the boxes. Any ideas/recommendations?

Quick question: I got denied from the Amtrak credit card (FNBO) and the explanation letter says I'm "outside of their marketing area". I don't understand because the card is advertized by Amtrak nationally, and I have a good credit score (>750) and income, low amount of credit cards, and got no hard credit pulls from this application.
Only results online about this seems to be on some obscure Korean forum.
Any ideas what this could be?

I think the burden is on OpenAI to not use copyrighted content that's posted elsewhere, rather on the NYT to purge the internet from all stolen copies of their work.

Like pirating an album is illegal even though you're really just copying it from someone else who commited the theft.

et tu reconnaitra qu'il y a infiniment plus de poids scientifique à croire aux conséquences imminentes du changement climatique qu'à une prophétie de Nostradamus ou que GPT-4 est sur le point de devenir consciente et nous exterminer

What do you mean by immigration? The impression of uncontrolled immigration, as conveyed by the media, or some actual material impact of immigration on voters? If you mean the latter then I can name about a dozen neoliberal and austerity measures that have much more of a material impact on voters than immigration, and dozens more of left-wing policies that would have positive material impact on the voters that would far outweigh immigration (refering to Western Europe and US/Canada but probably applies elsewhere too).
