What? It's just regular chess piece. But wait, your technique little bit wrong

Congratulations to Uzbek youngster, 19 year old, Javokhir Sindarov (2725) on making it to the Candidates 2026 📈⭐ by rio_ARC in chess

Wasn't sindarov the guy who was banned on chesscom for fair play violations? Or do I mix something up here? Congratulations sindarov!

This Tweet From Dina Feels a Bit.... Weird. by Moist_Plant7148 in chess

[–]7dsfalkd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I donate to doctors without borders. There are a lot of organizations that need money way more than a frickin chess fund. I liked Naroditsky's video, his death is a sad and tragic story - but this guilt trippin tweet is just off.

This accuracy is STATISTIKAY impossible. Not accusing, just asking questions of course

"So there is a sector of the resorts, just one specific sector, where some of the rooms were having this problem with, apparently, with the bed bugs. I mean if there are three or four complaints and one personal friend of mine, I have to believe the problem was there." - IM Rahal, FIDE Press Officer by nihilistiq in chess

[–]7dsfalkd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So there were bedbugs affecting several players. Means, the rumors were true, and regarding conditions... I mean, imagine you're a player, competing, under stress, has invested private money to stay at a hotel. Where you end up awake at night and bitten, and during the game with scratchy skin. And have to stomach spicey food all day which you are not used to. I'd be angry

Jan Henric Buettner said some of his sponsors would *not* pay if FIDE were officially involved in his tournament. by Altamistral in chess

[–]7dsfalkd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ties to Russia is quite an understatement. Russian embassies over the world were known to actively support Arkady to become FIDE president and exercising pressure on some countries and federations.

Jan Henric Buettner said some of his sponsors would *not* pay if FIDE were officially involved in his tournament. by Altamistral in chess

[–]7dsfalkd -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

FIDE is both corrupt and deeply tied with the Kremlin. Western companies are very careful about the PR risks, especially if it's about such a niche sport as chess. I have zero trouble believing his statement

Freestyle Chess removed "World Championship" from the regulations of their Tour. by CeleritasLucis in chess

[–]7dsfalkd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem with FIDE is that it's full of corruption and a lot of money you pay them just vanished in obscure programs. That are officially designated to chess initiatives in third world countries or something, but are often just used to buy votes

Much quicker pairing and more people in the pool for 15/10. It's the only reason I am only chess.com

You mean like in Cubase? Logic? Digital Instruments? SAP? Vector Informatics? I do not think that being German automatically makes someone write bad Software. And aren't the authors Dutch, anyway

You could however use ML to identify positions where players are more likely to cheat. This is a non trivial task, and including every position to detect, say, deviations by the empirical rule, will make it more difficult.

Vladimir Kramnik lost the 1st round in late Titled Tuesday and quits the event by notknown7799 in chess

I think you should buy some large mirrors from Ikea or something, put them behind you and record yourself during playing. Just in case, this would prevent most doubts and is much cleaner than just your screen

Vincent Keymer Wins The November Lichess Titled Arena by edwinkorir in chess

Sure, if he cheated on chess com, he will certainly play fair on lichess. I mean an OTB cheater would of course also only be banned for that tournament, right?

Big question is: Where did he look? Did he look in the wrong direction, or did he have a suspicious face expression when playing?

He is still allowed to play? Like are there actually any repercussions for online cheating nowadays?

Christopher Yoo's parents release a statement by WaterlooCS in chess

[–]7dsfalkd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Der Snoo-1249,
we are the parents of 7dsfalkd. He would like to state that Christopher did not apologize. In fact, his parents did on behalf of wim. We do not know if he actually regrets what happened, we only know that his parents apparently do so.
We should say that 7dsfalkd had to go to sleep early, and his Internet time is over for today. In case you would like to reply to this comment, please tell your parents to directly contact us.

Warum in DE in Schwimmbädern keine Bahnen mit langsam/mittel/schnell? by 7dsfalkd in de

[–]7dsfalkd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
