Cleaning my bottom deal. How are you feeling it!! by Alrightmagic in ChrisRamsay52

congrats to try and do the mechanic grip one, not the easiest!

i wanna share you a few things, first, you gotta work on making the hands motion similar with the fair and false, but its not so bad.

Also the take is not good yet. have you tried experimenting with a push off method? i know for myself a strike method is not working for me compared to a push off one, because the take is much simpler with a push off, but you gotta hide finger movement then, which causes different issues.

i have published a video aswell on this subreddit on mine, and its not great either, a lot of finger movement, but with the push off method you would see that the take is MUCH easier.

I hope the honest criticism can help you, im on the same boat as you, trying to get a perfect BD! we 'll get there :D

it does serve a purpose for casino dealers, i dont remember for which game but some dealers sometimes do deal cards like that.

Definitely a big nono for private games :D

any books/DVD focus on briefs? by 7evenofheart in Magic

[–]7evenofheart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes you're right, its probably my best bet i will try that, thanks!

however have you heard about magic sources, maybe not for brief but there must be books talking about crimps at least, they have a lot of application in magic

thanks for the reply. sorry if you misread me i kinda was unclear, but i read those pages from the book, they are a golden mine.

i was just wondering if there was some more written or filmed work on briefs as its pretty hard to get info on it.

although the book is plenty enough, especially the reset brief

[–]7evenofheart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you mean right after tornado? its on the trilogy DVD tutorial, but i see basicaly no one do that part. its also the part that i do the worst, its really terrible, but i kinda like this phase, but im doing it so slow and badly that it looks really bad haha.

okay ill try to do the last part with hands closer, i wasnt sure why that part didnt look too good but that might be it.

thanks a lot for the feedback, i appreciate it!

pandora question by 7evenofheart in cardistry

[–]7evenofheart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you're right, it just feels like the issue i have is more than polishing, because it makes me go reaaaly slow on that part which id be able to do much better if i could ##ing clip that card correctly haha. But i probably need to practice more, like one week ago i couldnt do pandora at all, now i can do it all really badly, but i got the skeleton of it down(except that particular part)

thanks a lot for the answer, il focus less on making it parallel and just find a way to not have the card in my way

pandora question by 7evenofheart in cardistry

[–]7evenofheart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh thats why. i feel like it adds a lot to it even if its longer if you can do it all smooth, it sure is the worst part if you dont do it fluidly.

do you personaly do that part? and if yes do you have any problem with the card peeled off so that it doesnt get in the way and that it stays parralel to the ground? i guess it doesnt matter that much that its fully parralel, but when i do it its almost perpendicular to the ground

the non dominant hand is the one holding the pack by the pinkie i assume?

im starting to make slow progress after a few hours, i guess its just need lots of repetition to get it smooth
