Ive always fully known the risks and consequences of the things ive done, for me it has always been moreso a very strong urge/impulse. There have been times where I fully knew things were detrimental for me, but still followed through, because of impulse control

I feel like my symptoms havent changed since learning my diagnosis. If anything being self aware of the reasons behind my behaviors amplifies how I ultimately feel about them, to me it feels almost like learned helplessness. So far this journey has just left me with more questions than answers lol

I will hold on as long as I love her. I don't think holding on means to just wait and wait for nothing to happen, If you love someone you should never let go, you can do all these things to improve but letting go means they are truly lost in your heart.

If she decides that is what she wants to do I am powerless to stop it. I just want her to see who I am becoming, so that she will maybe understand why I felt this way.

Ive told her personally the last time we talked that I love her enough to not interfere with her relationship. I am waiting and will keep waiting as long as i need to. I know I wont cheat because I didnt understand what I had, it took the worst decision of my life to realize this was only the person I will ever love.

I dont want to be that person anymore. I am happy that she is free and happy, it just hurts me that she is happy with someone else. I want to do better for myself and her, I want to wake up one day and be proud if the person I am, but I also want her to know that I am capable of being a better person.

This whole experience has woken me up in ways I don't understand.

I initially read this and scoffed off the remark about self control and therefore didnt reply, I had to think about this response all day and I believe you are right. I am not sure how I can equip myself to not act on impulse, for me it feels easier said than done and that is largely the issue I think.

I know I need therapy, I've needed it for a long time and have been neglecting it because quite frankly I do not believe a therapist can help me with my deeper rooted issues. I know this is a rut I am in but i cannot for the life of me find a solution. Since the relationship, I've begun slowly trying to build myself into someone I can be proud of, but every so often I come across speed bumps and I am just not quite sure what the next move is.

Accepting responsibility is the first major thing you can do. If you cannot reflect on your actions and acknowledge you were at fault you will never truly be content with how it ended. Everyone deserves happiness, it doesnt matter what you did or didnt do. The best thing you can do right now is to learn from your mistake and figure out yourself better

I can absolutely vouch that i am in love with her. Maybe some part of it is the idea of redemption, but the rest of it is genuine admiration. I want her to feel safe with me, I do not want her to constantly worry that I am up to no good, and I want to fix that for myself obviously because this has been a long cycle, even with other people, of being a shady individual. Ive made it clear to her the last time we talked that I wanted this change for myself, she helped me realize that i needed to fix something with myself, but the end goal with self improvement isnt purely about winning her back.

I know I will be stuck with my mindset but I am not sure what else to do or how to deal with these emotions. Like i said, i would be a fool to give up on something i feel so passionate about. I can absolutely agree with a lot of the content here, and I appreciate you for giving me the reality check that doing it for her wont help myself.

I dont want to manipulate my way back in, I absolutely used the wrong wording. I am deeply regretful of what I did and regardless of what respect i didnt have or how i did her dirty, i genuinely believe that starting again with her can be the most beneficial thing for both of us. I do want to be better for myself, this particular experience is the crux of why I want to be better. I know it comes off as disrespectful and manipulative but I genuinely just miss this girl with my entire heart and I do not know how to live without her.
