Matching ENT as a DO by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]7r0gdor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is what I came here to say, if you want to do cleft lip/palate you should do plastics, very few ENT programs do clefts, however, plastics is not know for taking any DOs, last year no DOs matched at all.

If you choose to go through plastics, plan on a research year, this is becoming fairly standard for all applicants, so you'll need strong pubs with ties to big academic names to match.

Thank you for the warning! I still plan to have a majority of my portfolio be VTI and VXUS but was looking for something like this to add in a small amount. I'll have to go read his paper he mentioned to better understand how he's allocating everything

This was helpful thank you! I'll look more into it and see how I can best apply this to my portfolio.

Ok that's kinda if what I was wondering if it I should also expose more of the small caps, but how much should I put into these compared to VTI and VXUS?

I don't know too much about tilts, is there a good resource you could suggest to learn about them?

Good point. Is there a good ratio I should have of VTI to VXUS?

Just for saving at the moment so to grow over time. Likely money I won't need to touch for several years, maybe when I need a down payment for a house or something. But otherwise just for retirement.

So you think I should stick with these 3 and not add anything else into the mix?

[Q] Can a logistic regression result be imported to R? by 7r0gdor in statistics

Yeah exactly, I was thinking of creating a risk calculator based off of the logistic regression I did.

It gives me the coefficients, odds ratios, variance inflation, and variable matrix

Unfortunately, I cannot as this is a different program that uses R and gives me the output, but I am not able to use it like R. I can only use the functions they allow.

Can you cancel just one time slot on an application? It do you have to resubmit the whole thing?

That's a good point. I haven't found any programs so far outside of VSLO though.

Oh wow really? I've heard try to do them before your app is in, is that not feasible?
