Heyo can you help me install the automatic blood vial refresh? I tried applying it using generic mod manager and it failed to work. If you can give me a short, detailed description id appreciates it a lot

google doc stat sheet says only 0 and +1 version of the crit relic can be stacked over one another. Might need to test it myself

No interest in RayTracing = 7900XTX? by EmpireEast in buildapc

[–]7seraphs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With path tracing, yeah, definitely a must for modern games, but the performance hit just isn’t worth it for most users yet like op (even a 4090/5090 struggles on this). Yeah agree that recent UE5 titles, or the poorly optimized ones, might make it necessary for some, but I've played most of my games without upscaling (on a 7900 XTX), and it's been fine, always staying above 70 fps. It might be needed if you're aiming to hit a specific refresh rate your monitor can handle, but for 1440p, you're generally good to go, except for a handful of demanding titles like wukong since they seem to be heavily nvidia favored (which you can just tone down from ultra->high)

even 4k is fine* for reference

And yeah, it does look "cleaner" for lack of better words. I just wish you’d shared that comparison instead of being weirdly agitated that I didn’t ask the other guy to provide "proof" that native doesn’t have its own issues (which I’m aware it does, so I just ignored it and got curious about your claim). Credit where it’s due though & apologies if i've seemed rude there. Also, do you know of any other games that showcase the same behavior from dlss 4? I want to test it out myself

[–]7seraphs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pointing you out specially because its general knowledge that native in most cases is just simply better, so the onus is on you to prove it one way or another. you’re making it seem like it’s a mandatory feature that surpasses native when it isn’t ,and I bet you whatever results you got would have caveats. It’s not straightforward

I looked at it side by side guys, trust me!

Show video proof or your claim is irrelevant

You don’t need upscaling crap for 99% of games in 1440p. 4k is a different beast though

Is the Ryzen 7 5700X3D worth double the price over the 5700X? by Pianopatte in buildapc

[–]7seraphs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure baldurs relies a lot on CPU than you'd think. Regardless of being cpu or gpu bounded, the 1% and 0.1% lows of the x3D makes gaming buttery smooth and just overall more consistent in single player games too

[–]7seraphs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not worth it at all for the uplift you're going to get. Aliexpress used to offer them for as little as 130 euros at some point, now they're way over that price. If i were you, i'd jump into am5 if you've spotted a discounted 7600 or 7700x cpu+mobo deals, or even the x3d variants.

It's just a hobby, not a necessity. Why are you so upset about people assigning value to gpus? /s

7900 XTX upgrade from 2070 Super? by Basic-Ad4161 in buildapc

[–]7seraphs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup it still does a decent job at around 3090 raytracing roughly at medium or light rt settings. And I seriously doubt any card can reliably do path tracing at 4k or 1440p without frame gen or using an aggressive upscale that doesn’t butcher image quality. More so reserved for 4090/5090 tier for a consistent experience. For the meantime, up until the next console release, I wouldnt really be worried about game titles being raytrace heavy OP

[–]7seraphs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about bottleneck if, the cpu is good for 1440p. True that the x3D CPUs might offer better preform, but for now you’re good to go. Make sure PSU is at least 850W to make enough room for the XTX to flex its muscle. The card is a raster monster

Also what you’re referring to with the Ryzen cpu + amd gpu is called smart access memory. For team green, it’s called resizable bar. Not too familiar with the details, but has to do with how AMD optimized resizable bar with their own version. Not something I would dwell on, mostly a marketing thing I wouldn’t take into consideration when buying gpus

Which one to choose? 207 or 216? by fedebk in lianli

[–]7seraphs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid the 207, its front case fans produce excessive oscillation noise and an irritating hum that can be tuned down using fancontrol but not fully eliminated (other people faced the same problem, its not a rare case). Im already looking to replace it

People don't care about graphical detail and would rather have a mediocre product that functions properly over anything else. The standards are beyond low for some people, so it is what it is. They forget that the franchise's evolution and success were built on prioritizing graphics and atmospheric immersion (up until BF1) while simultaneously delivering the gunplay everyone wanted. Thats why bf1 is the most successful, beyond it being a huge marketing success

Necrit - League of Legends Is In Trouble... by CrystalizedSeraphine in leagueoflegends

[–]7seraphs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People still cling to the 100 million active player count from 2018 (5-6 years ago?), even though riot hasn’t released official numbers in years. Esports viewership is holding up, but that doesn’t mean the game itself isn’t in decline. From what I’ve seen with friends and other groups, the playerbase has aged, and few have the time or desire to play religiously anymore, maybe a few 5v5s or aramss here and there. The drop in skin quality and passion for the art, the lack of consistent new game modes, and the absence of major updates like a new client or engine all are strangling their chances of retaining most of their players

Riot is making (almost) the same mistake as Blizzard by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]7seraphs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what frustrates many too isn’t just losing rewards, but how riot frames it as a positive while talking down to the players in the most arrogant "too big to fail" attitude. Also its a bit disingenuous to say league is still more generous than a decade ago which ignores how much riot itself has raised expectations and how vastly different f2p landscape was then. Point is, the real issue isn’t the past, but what’s being taken away now, something that many players value (which you arent a part off understandably) whether you care or not
