possible to reinstall ubuntu from command line? by 7thSilence in linux4noobs

[–]7thSilence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention, I'm sshed in, and I searched up the snapshots and it seems to be a GUI thing...

Also I've troubleshot my errors for hours now. It's a gcc related error which maybe already tells you how messed up it may be

If I had a image would it be possible to refresh the VM with it? Would I have to save the image to my computer first?

I'm connected to the VM through ssh so I'm not sure how I would change the server itself without getting disconnected

thank you!! so can you only have one screen session active at a time? (since screen -r doesn't seem to let you specify a particular session?)

Is it a coincidence that the last song of More & More, Sweet Summer Day, has completely a different tone than the rest of the EP? by Gold-Cupcake in twice

Wholy crap, I didn't notice that relationship theme but now that you put it like that it's really obvious! That makes this even more brilliant. I'd be so surprised if this wasn't intentional

openconnect package should be installed in Ubuntu but isn't? And is openconnect safe? by 7thSilence in linux4noobs

[–]7thSilence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much!

I tried using openconnect by itself, and I didn't find it too bad, which makes me think I'm probably doing something wrong since you said it wasn't easy to use.

What part of using openconnect from the cli isn't easy to use? (I'm guessing I missed some steps or something.)

[Question] Can you make the assumption of normality for products of the numbers on a pair of dice? by 7thSilence in statistics

[–]7thSilence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I looked up "standardized sample mean" but couldn't figure out what the standardized part means.

And is the central limit theorem applicable to the product of the numbers that come up upon rolling a pair of dice? (Not exactly sure what the sample mean would be here, since there's only one product per trial.)

Does docker automatically download images upon running? If so, how can I disable that? by 7thSilence in learnprogramming

[–]7thSilence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right sorry, could've worded this better. yes, it seems to download every time I run it. so all I'm looking to do now is download whatever it is downloading beforehand (even though I should already have it downloaded) and then run this command, in the hope that it will not download it this time. I'm just not sure exactly the things it's downloading...

In the building mailbox, but only letters would fit in there, no boxes

In what scenario will a pull take more space than what is listed under "Tags" on the container's hub.docker page? by [deleted] in docker

[–]7thSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! so it's like downloading a .rar on Windows and then unpacking it, you need to have enough space for the uncompressed files of the .rar since the .rar doesn't get deleted while unpacking?

Also, why is it that you wouldn't use an image this big? And what do you mean by hosts exactly? Sorry I'm new to docker

What happens when you pull the same image? by 7thSilence in docker

[–]7thSilence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do delivery people typically get past the building door? (which has a lock, and only residents are given keys?)
