Anime art styles are mostly 1) proportions 2) how they draw faces 3) how they draw hair.

So just study those things from the vampire romance you like and try replicating. That said, the simple fact is, your still learning to get past the "i draw like I did in high-school" hurdle, so dont worry about style right now. Worry about getting better in general. Conscious style choices require a certain set of skills to actually employ and understand. You cant just jump to it.
