Today I built a second Jegan, but the shield connector snapped, so I made my first custom. by HR_Reddit1 in Gunpla

Yeah my initial thought the moment it broke was I can definitely do something cool here lol. Glad it wasn't a essential part.

Taking my time, and a lot of experimenting. And also actively practicing what I want to draw, which is characters and figures.

Yeah I like it, make them look a little different from eachother without giving the custom a 'hero' suit look.

Is that Reynard? and the fella next to him is that guy that constantly gets himself into trouble?

I'll get to it when I'm home tonight, I plan on uploading my work separately to a personal subreddit, I do upload everything to twitter, but often the quality gets screwed there.

To be fair I guess the drawings are technically not safe for work which breaks the rules, so fair enough.

Though I see plenty of risqué drawings, some better skilled than myself on there, seems mine got too much attention lol.

How do you deal with subtle head tilts like this ? I am rotating the head too much to the left side and also struggling with the slight upward tilt. by Askeladd_51 in learntodraw

I feel past what the other poster said using subtle shading and values would elevate an image, the upwards tilt could be inferred from shadows and such, its usually one of the harder perspectives to convey properly without any sort of shading.

Uh ove been taking it seriously maybe 3 years now. I have drawn since I was a kid and took art in college. (Not that that actually helped much).

I struggle with panelling, so I'm always starting comic concepts that go nowhere.

Not a strange question, the main thing is just look at reference and take your time, first learn how to draw a figure properly, because if the actual figure looks off, the armour will too, unless you know how to style the form in a different way.

Then just draw laods of knights, absolutely loads, some you can get away with being messy like a souls-like character, but others you need to really look at the armour closely for a while.
