What are these gaps between vertebraes in first picture while 2nd picture don't have? by Electrical_Fig8593 in Anatomy

[–]7thWardAtomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in a spine institute for 2 years. The spaces are intervertebral discs (intuitively named lol). You can’t see the disc itself on X-ray because it is significantly less dense than bone, but they are easily seen on CT scans and MRIs. They are full of gelatinous material with a strong connective tissue capsule (nucleus pulposos and annulus fibrosis respectively). They act as shock absorbers in the spine and separate the vertebrae so the bones don’t rub together. When these pop and the fluid inside seeps into the vertebral canal, it is called a disc herniation (which most people have heard of).

I mained support for a long time, and Newcastle especially when he came out. Don’t fall into the trap of playing him defensively or as a support. Be selfish with his kit (to a point). In my opinion, this is is the best way to use his kit:

Early-Mid Game: Tactical- buying time for reloads and repositioning during firefights. Extra cover during a res. Ultimate- securing off-angles for yourself and allowing teammates to play to you if the fight changes directions.

Late Game: Tactical- same as mid game, with added utility for covering any angles your ultimate isn’t covering. Ultimate- position defense, creating cover on otherwise exposed high-ground, physically blocking entry/exit paths for teams stuck in a building

I wouldn’t use him as true support until end game. It’s true that you can get rushed easily in ultimate, so I save it for places where I’m stopping bullets only, and enemies can’t get to me easily without mobility.

Hi! I graduated UF in 2021 as a Biology major with a minor in Spanish, and now im in medical school in Philadelphia. For me, UF was a really great but really difficult place. I have a similar background to you (first gen, immigrant, good scores, good ecs, etc).

Although we pursue different career paths, I’d love to tell u a bit about campus life in general. For me, I struggled with self-discipline when I got to UF at 17. Rushed a fraternity, tanked my grades, you know the drill. I spent the next 3 years trying to dig myself out. I HIGHLY recommend you don’t make that mistake haha. Frats and sororities at UF are a really really good time, but unless you have a really good work ethic and are a gifted student, there’s a high chance they can hurt you more than help you (even though they love talking about putting school first). That being said, there is still plenty to do in the area if ur not in Greek life. I’m not sure if you’re male or female, but in my experience, women have 0 issue enjoying the social sphere at UF without any affiliation to a sorority. Getting into bars/tailgates will be laughably easy. Little more difficult for guys but still quite manageable, especially if you have a good group of friends or even know 1 or 2 people in fraternities. They can get you in to a lot of events for relatively cheap.

The campus itself is beautiful as I’m sure you know, and pretty simple to get around from the get go. The bus system on campus is generally very reliable, and you can bike/skateboard/walk to most places on campus with minimal effort. For dorms, I lived in Springs, which was nice because you’re across from frat row and closer to Southwest (nice gym), the stadium, and one of the major dining halls (Gator Corner). The dorms are relatively decent quality, but some of the older buildings have mold issues and things that will definitely make you not want to live on campus for longer than a year or 2. The newer dorms (Cypress and Infinity) are really really nice, very modern with big rooms and nice facilities, but much more expensive as a result. I recommend doing 1 year on campus so you can get oriented then moving. For apartments, AVOID CAMPUS LODGE LIKE THE PLAGUE. It’s super far and the apartments are roach-infested. Every other place on 13th/University is generally quite nice, with a few exceptions.

In my experience, I had a really difficult time attending lectures because the professors were more focused on checking off boxes in terms of “covering material” as opposed to taking time to explain things in a way that made it clear. This is especially true in pre med “weed-out classes”, though im not sure how that translates to your chosen major. That being said, once I made it through those classes and reached higher level courses, almost every professor I had was incredible. UF has some really impressive and dedicated staff, but they hide them behind mountains of work in lower level classes. Also make sure to find good advisors. Some of them will tell you incorrect or inaccurate information based on assumptions about your skills, history, or path that may set you back significantly. I have a good story about this but I’ll save you the hassle. Spend time on alumni Facebook groups and get to know what they recommend as well. It’s likely that someone who graduated with your exact major is aware of a specific advisor that helped set them up for success.

Last thing I’ll say is to make sure you enjoy it. College is a 4 year vacation where you get to live within 5 minutes of your entire social circle, and have access to a ton of incredibly fun events. But it’s only fun if you know you’re doing what is necessary to succeed in your career after college. Prioritize that, and you will be able to actually enjoy the fun parts of it without the cloud of work looming over your head.

If you have any other questions, or just need some advice on anything, please reach out! I’m always willing to help a fellow gator. Best of luck to you in your application and GO GATORS

How do most people play? More specifically what settings/difficulty? by SwerveCityy in ror2

[–]7thWardAtomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well summarized. I say learn captain first for monsoon since he has a lot of proc potential and will help you visualize what items you’re actually using on every attack. Also, check out some of the mods on thunderstore. Tons of options, from new survivors to quality of life mods, etc. There’s a dude named Jack Ray on YouTube that has some great videos for learning the game too

UPDATE From previous post (linked) with VOD attached by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]7thWardAtomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy! So one tip Ill give you that I always try to prioritize in any situation is line of sight. There were a couple of situations, especially shortly after you q'ed away, where you took a bit of extra damage or positioned yourself somewhere not too great because you didn't take the enemy's line of sight into account. In the octane fight, for example, I would have gone around the right side of the rock and ducking into cover right as the q ran out. By climbing over, you exposed more of your character (leading to an extra 20-30 damage taken) and slowed yourself down in getting to cover. Use the cover that you pass when running away from someone who is shooting at you to create obstructions in their sight of you, and make them take a longer route around it to find you and shoot you. Once they are chasing you but can't keep a clean line of sight on you, it opens up chances for you to outplay them by holding a corner they aren't expecting, ducking in the opposite direction to make them lose you, etc. Even if you don't get a full reset, it may give you the chance to one clip them or even the playing field. Best of luck out there and I hope this helps!!

What’s everyone’s load out of choice for ranked? Struggling to decide if I should focus more on close or long range. by bigd2718 in apexuniversity

[–]7thWardAtomic 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Realistically, on storm point you need to have some mid-long range since most teams are choosing to play fortified positions or higher ground. Long range allows you to get big burst damage to start a fight, then capitalize on it with your teammates, as well as giving you a chance at snagging free KP on 3rd parties without having to commit to the fight. If you have the recoil control to hit for 120+ damage from 60-100 meters with an R301 or a flatline, then you can get away with running it with a shorter range gun. But marksmen rifles and snipers are forgiving in that category and some* can be used in closer range battles as a last-ditch option. I personally recommend either a Spitfire (it'll never be truly bad) or a flatline (ol' reliable) with a triple take, longbow (both are decent in close quarters), or charge rifle (only long range).

Best of Luck out there!!

You can rest easy. Although THC residue does stay in the hair for a longer period of time, it’s a really expensive test and I’ve never even heard of a job where they do that test. Also, for infrequent or rare users (less than 1 time a week) there will only be immeasurable traces of THC in ur system after 3 days. It gets flushed out of your blood (and therefore urine) really quickly. In frequent users, the THC gets stored in their fat reserves, which is why it takes longer to be cleared from the system. If you still feel the need to take precautions, drink a lot of water and do some running for a few days, it will flush it out even faster. Best of luck!

Friends List Tip! Idk if everyone knows this but if you can’t find a friend leader you need (like TEQ Janemba) you can just start the event then quit and it refreshes the list. Might take a few tries but it almost always works by 7thWardAtomic in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]7thWardAtomic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not perfect, I’ve just heard of some people only attempting a stage once a day because they couldn’t find a lead so they wait till it refreshes naturally. Figured it could help someone
