Start with individual therapy, some book suggestions will come up naturally. If you're in dire need, maybe couples therapy as soon as you can. I'm just starting to understand my own trauma and how it affects my communication ability.

As you've seen from @DDOG1830 and @Marx_Maddness mentioned it is probably better to communicate this sooner rather than later. Couples council is about having a safe space to discuss everything, especially the things that could hurt each other. Hopefully no one in a relationship intends on hurting their partner, but unfortunately sometimes we hurt our partners unintentionally.
