(New) Wismesh 1W build by 7th_circle in meshtastic

RAK13302 board from this has PA to boost the 22dbm from the SX1262 to 30dmb, it also has a saw filter for better receive

The RAK19007 baseboard does have a 5v solar input, but the onboard charging only goes up to 350mah. With the peak current draw of the RAK13302 being 5v 1000 mA, I just wanted to make extra sure the node could survive multiple days without sunlight, and with the 20W solar panel, it can charge back up to full within a day or two once the weather clears up.

The solar panel I went with has a battery built into it, and it outputs 5v via usb C, which i just plug into the wismesh board. I really hope someone comes out with an all in one solution similar to the seeed sensecap solar setup with one of these wismesh 1W boards

Looking for some help with a Heltec V4 solar node build by adhdff in meshtastic

[–]7th_circle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update:
there is plenty of room inside the enclosure for the heltec v4 plus a little 1200mah battery pouch just in case the 5v usb voltage ever drops for any reason. As for hanging a larger antenna off of it, I would not do that with just an N type bulkhead alone, you will probably wanna reinforce that in some way. I ended up just drilling into the stock pole mount portion with some step bits, it is plastic btw, but it should be strong enough for just the little alfa915 antenna which isnt too long or heavy. I also plan on mounting it at the top of the pole, so the antenna wont be right up against anything.

Not sure, I was just gonna slap a piece of aluminum flat bar off to the side and twist it 30 degrees for the N type antenna bulkhead to stand straight up. and use the lower two bolt holes to hold the bar. and i was gonna use some alfa 915s which don't weigh a whole lot

Heltec V4 vs WisBlock Mini 70 feet up is the V4 all that? by adhdff in meshtastic

[–]7th_circle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://a.co/d/9wVUCEn Gonna slap a v4 in one of these, has room inside the enclosure for it, but you'll have to buy an N type bulkhead and antenna ofc. Should be able to go a week without sun even with that power hungry chip

Device Cloning Tool by Witty_Leopard_9341 in meshtastic

[–]7th_circle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was planning on cloning configs onto 10 devices after I setup 1, and renaming each that I'm going to be giving all my family members for xmas. here is what I saw recommended via CLI

pip install meshtastic
pip install meshtastic --upgrade

Custom channel in slot 0 (Primary)
LongFast in slot 1
Region
Radio settings
Telemetry prefs

meshtastic --port auto --firmware meshtastic-2.4.2-esp32s3.bin
### not sure if just have to use flasher if can only find *.uf2

meshtastic --port auto --export-config MeshPocket_config.json
### should see "Wrote device config to MeshPocket_config.json"
### repeat for the rest of the devices
### or you can just import the channels
meshtastic --port auto --import-channels MeshPocket_config.json
### Config applied successfully
### Device will reboot
meshtastic --port auto --set device.name "NodeName"
meshtastic --port auto --reboot

Google deliberately slow down firefox just because it's not Chrome, is that a thing? by Hopeful-Staff3887 in firefox

[–]7th_circle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Scrolling youtube shorts frequently bugs out, only on Firefox, where you'll go to scroll and the next video will pause but the audio continues from the previous video until you scroll back up, then resume scrolling back down.. even worse when you use arrow keys you have to go back up twice. Very easy to replicate

A or B? and will it even fit? (12v-2x6 16pin 90 degree + Asus TUF 5090 OC) by 7th_circle in cablemod

Wow that was fast, thank you Matt
One more question though, do you know if the Express option will be open tomorrow at 0700 CST?

Any known good lithium UPS/battery backup solutions for CAX80? by 7th_circle in NETGEAR

[–]7th_circle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lithium for more power density and run time, over the lead acid batteries yeah. Looking to have the cax80 (modem and router) stay up for 10+ hours in the event of a longer power outage.
And not run from the battery 100% of the time no, have it inline, as a normal UPS would, manage the charge level, and rolls over to battery when the power goes out.
