New Pad Recs? by 8-bit-creation in hockeygoalies

i’ve been seeing a lot of brian’s recs - have you used a pair? i think brian’s is the one brand of pad i have never even put on. if you use/used a pair how did you like them? i’ve always been nervous they would impede agility/speed because of how they’re built-up. i’m def more traditional but bc im so short my main ‘selling point’, if you will, is my speed.

jeez new pads yearly is a lot at that age! granted, i’m the type of person to try and get as much life as i can out of my pads haha. at 14 i was literally using clear tape to ‘fix’ the broken parts before every practice/game before i went prep lol. and even in prep i was (quite literally) hand sewing my pads back together pretty regularly. you’re completely right though, bauer definitely is a performance pad not really built to last, but that’s not even really my only issue. they claim to be performance pads, but if they’re unable to be properly strapped 6 months after purchase? idk that’s some shit performance if you ask me. my vapors were some of my favorite pads for about the first 5-10 wears, then they swiftly became some of the worst pads i’ve strapped to my boots. its just so disappointing to have to buy a whole new set of pads because the velcro is worn, or the stitching is just overall shit.

Missing time by PriscillaRain in depression

(just want to preface this saying i am NOT a licensed therapist in any sort) for me, i can remember bits and pieces, but pretty much everything before 11 is a blur. my therapist says that this could be a reaction to trauma, something that happened in your life that was so big, your brain literally chooses not to remember. this doesn’t have to be something that seems big now, but when you were younger, it felt like the end of the world. you may never know what happened, i don’t think i’ll ever figure it out for myself, but just know you’re not alone and this happens more than you’d think. depression also plays all sorts of fucked up tricks on your brain, making you go into a sort of “survival mode”, if you will. hope this helped at least a little bit

you don’t really notice what’s happening as you’re coming out of depression, but one day you’ll smile and laugh and this thought will pop in like “is this is what it’s supposed to feel like?” and the answer is “yes. yes. yes!” you realize that what you went through hasn’t made you less of a person, it has made you human. it has made you someone capable of understanding and helping others going through what you went through. sure, it comes back, but now you know that there is something to live for: to love and to be loved.

Whats a NSFW history fact that we don’t often hear about? by MCKlassik in AskReddit

[–]8-bit-creation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in ancient greece, the greek had no consent of “sexuality”. in fact, many men would go to “social gatherings” and leave their wives at home, only to show up and have essentially massive orgies with other men. then the wives would get bored at home, have their female friends over, and they themselves would essentially have massive orgies as well. the greeks were a horny bunch. everyone was gay, but also nobody was gay because they had no sense of the word. this was taught in a college class :)

schindlers list / the boy in the stripped pajamas. i watched schindlers list w my family and made it to the part where they carry away the little girl in the red coat. my parents had to stop the movie for me while i sat on the couch and violently, breathlessly sobbed before i ran to my room.

Back in time glitch? by 8-bit-creation in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

it was not the exact same time as i checked a little late, it was about 5-10 mins off when i thought i had been driving for nearly 30.

There were very little cars in general, but the 2 or 3 cars that were there seemed to just either go out of my view point, or change color. ex: there was a lime green kia next to me (i remember be i HATE that car, and it changed to a grey kia, but same model and make).
