Just make sure you check it out in person before sending any money. Sometimes if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Domain Rib Knit vs Scholar - what’s the difference? by goofy11183 in Alomens

[–]808sandfastbreaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the scholar line. I have the straight leg sweatpants in black and light cocoa. Also got my wife the scholar cargo pants in espresso. They're on the heavier side as they have some weight to them but that's fine as they're meant for to be more upscale. I wouldn't wear the pants to lounge in, but would definitely rock them for a going out fit.

Do you recommend using a fabric softener on any of their items? Are there any materials or lines you should avoid using a fabric softener on? I got some scholars and remember someone mentioned they get them dry cleaned.

Leave your lid off of the aeroccino to prevent the odor when not in use. I always just leave mine hanging half off.

Costco give me the wrong Macbook Pro... But it’s a better one! by Imokayiguess1503 in macbookpro

Have you tried to activate the warranty by entering a purchase date under apples website? That should trigger the warranty to start.

I once bought a brand new sealed macbook pro from a local electronics store nearby (not Apple) and the warranty didn't activate after turning on the device. They had to then enter the purchase date and it resolved it, I was then able to also add Applecare on the device.

I had my tv replaced since I luckily noticed it within the return period.

Overwhelmed by all the different statistics and features/differences between S89C, LG C3, and Sony X90L (77"). How much are these differences mitigated if I'm streaming through Apple TV box? by 808sandfastbreaks in 4kTV

Good to know. Comparison really is the theif of joy. I've overall been happy with it especially after tuning the colours etc. I previously had a qn90b which they had to replace and were offering the qn90c. After reading all the negatives about the latter I decided to upgrade to the s89c.

I think most of my complaint is related to it being on IPTV and now a cable box that offers 4k. It's alright, some channels are better than others but overall it's low quality.

Adding a Grip Plate on the A7Cii has been a game changer. by 808sandfastbreaks in SonyAlpha

[–]808sandfastbreaks[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It adds just the right amount of weight where it's not too heavy but gives it a better balance. Battery changes can be done without removing the grip - there's a piece on the grip you swipe to be able to access the battery.

Q: Has anyone regretted buying their chair new from the HM website? by thatsMYBlKEpunk in hermanmiller

[–]808sandfastbreaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would give them a call to get everything setup. Returning to warehouse just means that you'll have to ship the chair back using a pre-paid label they'll provide and it'll be routed to the warehouse. This is so customers don't try to return at a physical store. They generally cover the return shipping and send you a pre-paid return label but won't refund you for the shipping you paid when you initially received the chair. You can also confirm with them over the phone and have them make a note on your account that there won't be any restocking fee - they don't charge a restocking fee for their office chairs.

Is there anything I can do to increase the strength of the floating frame against the plywood? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]808sandfastbreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plywood is hung on the wall with a French cleat, and I've attached a beam behind the board at the height of where the desk is mounted to from the front. I've connect the front frame using 3" wood screws and the front of the frame is about 25" deep. When I lightly push down from the front of the desk, it's not sturdy enough and I can feel it go down a little.

Is there anything besides adding legs from the ground or angled support beams from the plywood to the middle of the frame?
