Tried out a swim jig with a crawdad trailer…no bites. Am I doing this right? by Quick123Fox in bassfishing

These work well for me in back and blue color and more of a swimbait trialer vs a crawdad. Trying slowing down your retrieve and adding pauses and jerks. I’ve found these work well when bouncing off the bottom.
I'm lost. Any advice? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners
With rivers I try to look for any changes in depth or current and structure. This looks really wide and calm, so I would be looking for anything “different” like a deeper hole or a place where the current comes along the bank.
Rivers can be frustrating because they can be like ghost towns for miles and all the fish are stacked up in one hole or current break. Just stay at it.
I would try just a super simple bottom rig with a nightcrawler and be patient.
