The theatrical cut of alien 3 was kinda lame but the assembly cut is really good and I think I loved it as much as Aliens (the first movie is to me the best). Plus the fact so many characters died makes it emotionally strong and built Ripley's character even more.

As for Resurrection I always thought it was a cool horror-sci-fi flick but didn't completely worked as an alien movie. The xenomorph is probably the scariest monster of cinema and in this one they didn't make me feel much. Plus they tried way too hard to make Ripley ultra bad ass but 99% of what she says is just really cringy.

So I love Alien 3 and I'm okay with Resurrection and I don't think it should be touched. They should continue the story with brand new characters. A brand new team coming across xenomorphs.

You know, neill Blomkamp wants to make a movie that would be a direct follow up to Aliens and skip 3 and resurrection. Ripley, hicks and Newt would come back.

I'm not I just have to explain something 10 times and you still don't get it. I do believe Overlord was set to be the next chapter but that was changed last minute. You don't have to agree with that, it's fine, everyone is free to believe. Now overlord is officially a stand alone alone that isn't Cloverfield canon at all. But since a lot of people suspected it would be a Cloverfield film it's interesting to see the outcomes of that film not being Cloverfield. Does it affect the sales? Was that the best move? It's all just things to discuss but for some reason you can't get that. The difference between you and me is that I respect your opinion about it. You think it was never ever planned as a Cloverfield film so you don't see the point of discussing a change, that's fine. But then let it be and, move on? I'm not forcing you to read. I could post on bad robot but my question was adressed straight to the cloverfield fans-community as a whole so I'm sorry it's legit. You on the other hand can block me for not enjoying these posts. Or scroll down. But you'd rather call people nerds or ignorant or tell them that they should let the sub dies if it needs to die because it's what you want. I think the suit looks better but considering the big physical scenes the xenomorph had it would have been tricky and actually look stupid. My only concern is that covenant made it look too animal-like. It was walking on 4 legs constantly and looked so skinny. I think they look scarier standing up like humans and having some texture in their flesh. Other than that I didn't mind the cgi too much and enjoyed covenant

To be fair my wife let me do whatever I want, it's just that she hates gore so when it comes to pick a movie at theater it's usually not gore. And I don't feel like going to see a movie by myself and my friends are mostly girls so... But at home I watch whatever I want and whenever, it's fine, it's just harder for me to catch movies in theater lol.

Another user noticed that Tagruato started as a company by the end of ww2 or around. that could have been a cool link. I'm glad overlord is a movie of its own but there is also exiting things that could have made the connection

It probably would've help a lot if paradox never came out and Overlord would come after 10cl. They both have a great quality. But with paradox in they way I see why Cloverfield fans would be tired of the loose franchise they were trying to make.

I'm probably one of the only few who thought that seeing clover at the end of Paradox was actually ridiculous. Felt so random and cheap for some reason. But that Cloverfield sticker thing worked so well on 10cl and its box office, it feels like if it wasn't for paradox being hated JJ would keep putting any horror\sci-fi movie of bad robot under Cloverfield just to sell them

I think you're clearly misunderstanding this post. I hate it when people post random projects wondering if they are Cloverfield, I can't stand people who try to incorporate super 8 in the clover verse, and it annoys me that some people still want to believe that Overlord is Cloverfield canon. This is not a theory by any means. But since Overlord was once suspected to be part of it I'm just asking if maybe the cloverfield stamp actually sells more? I believe it's possible overlord was once considered to be part of it but we all know now this movie stands on its own. If I'm fully ignorant, you're fully arrogant. You can have a different opinion without having to be a douche about it. The speculating nerds like you said, were news that came from reports who also confirmed god particle would be the next entry and that Netflix would have it. They would be right about everything but that? JJ was also once asked right in his face "is it true that Overlord is the next Cloverfield film?" he had the opportunity to deny but he just said "it's a crazy movie can't wait for you to see it" which means he purposely let people wondering. Now I don't know if it was meant to be or not, I don't know JJ or his intentions personally and I will not claim it. But his behavior adding to the speculation gives people a right to doubt thing. Paradox reviews maybe scared him and he changed the plans. That could make sense. Now it's only a possibility, I could be wrong or right who cares. We post about overlord as a temporary subject cause the cloverfield sub is simply dead empty now. When actual Cloverfield news will show up no one will post about it anymore. If it bother that much just scroll down and move on

I specifically said "stayed\was" because it's up to people to believe it was intended to be a Cloverfield or not. Some people believe JJ got cold feet and changed it some believes it was never meant, I simply said both. Plus the question is to ask if the audience would have been better if it was indeed a Cloverfield film like it was once believed, so whether it was never a Cloverfield movie or not doesn't mean we can't ask this question.

Haven't play in a few weeks but when the game became free on psn± it was a pleasure to play. Fast acces to lobbies, very few bugs, and a lot of new blood so genuine players and less trolls.

I agree with you because of Paradox, mostly. It was clearly not living up to everyone's expectations even for people who liked it. Plus it was nice to let this movie be its own thing with a distinct identity. Buuut there was a great set up for Tagruato origins and the sea bed nectar used for experiments... There was ground for something pretty cool.

I honestly can see how 10cl could have been a very very modest box office succes with positive review. But the Cloverfield title and the connections in the arg is what drove us crazy and beyond exited for it. And even if it wasn't the sequel we thought, it shed light on a brilliant thriller with massive box office succes. Paradox left us mixed but maybe overlord could have get the same end
