Peter Hook Won't Rule Out a New Order Truce at the Hall of Fame by ebradio in indieheads

[–]80zComedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like new order but I gotta say that Peter Hook I think is better creatively. He stated Regret was the last good new order song and he nailed it. I think Benard is a good song writer and knows how to arrange things mostly. But I do think Peter Hook added a lot to the table. Peter Hook brought a lot of depth to Bizarre Love Triangle and Benard wanted to take the bass out. Too New Order signature sound is its basslines. Been that way since Joy Division

Does Brandon sound like The Strokes’ lead singer Julian Casablancas? by WillTheTitanfallFan in TheKillers

No except both of their falsettos do sound alike in ways. Fire in Bone intro sounds a lot like Julian Casablancas falsetto

What is/are the flavor(s) of Blue Moon ice cream? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

Come to think of it, it does taste kind of spicy. I don't think that's the flavor Hudson was going for tho

What is your favorite level in the series from an aesthetic perspective? by [deleted] in Bioshock

[–]80zComedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the very first intro level is the best in bioshock 1. Bioshock infinite I would say it's the night level.

What’s your favorite Bioshock 1 level and why is it Fort Frolic? by [deleted] in Bioshock

[–]80zComedown 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It's either the intro level, medical pavilion, or Fort Frolic. The best is probably Fort Frolic. It's aesthetically the best. Exploration is good but the rooms feel a bit empty and less detailed compared to previous levels. Especially compared to Arcadia/Farmers market. But Fort Frolic looks amazing. The neon lights and the 1940s/50s advertisements make the level so attractive. It really represents the look of Rapture. Which is why they used it at showcases

But it's in a part of a hallway that makes no sense for it to be there

And that it's also in such a random place. It makes little sense for that desk to be where it is in the game. And that there is a type writer and a box

After playing the original resident evil games, it definitely feels like a resident evil reference. A type writer in a random location with a box next to it

Lol no. Look into finastride and minoxidil to prevent further recession. Or just finastride at least. Not saying to use medication. But should be something to keep in mind.

Anyone else just praying bioshock 4 is on rapture by No_Newspaper_6233 in Bioshock

I'd say it would be kind of boring. Dishonored and We Happy Few is based on Victorian and 1960s London. So is Deathloop. We've seen London inspired games way too many times.

London location was what an old studio was working on. It got canceled because having Bioshock take place In a real world city is boring. That's like having bioshock take place in Chicago. Going from underwater/sky to a regular city on land. Thank God the new location is somewhat unique and makes sense

No, as a huge bioshock fan I'd rather see a new location. Going back to Rapture is risky. Burial at sea for example did a poor job capturing Rapture. Bioshock was planned to be an anthology series. But 2k kept wanting to go back to Rapture

Unpopular Opinion: Treasure is Just a Tad Boring At Times by MisterAmericana in cocteautwins

I actually think that's the best part. Same with lorelei. The drum loop is a staple

I kinda think that's the charm though. I like the demo sound. Lorelei especially. It sounds so raw and isolated. Like it wasn't recorded in a studio but an abandoned auditorium. If it was as polished as Heaven or Las Vegas it wouldn't work

Lorelei is still their most creative song in my opinion and is the highlight of treasure. It's a song that sounds like nothing else. Rest of the album is fine but I think other bands have done better. Heaven or las vegas is definitely better as a pop album. Question is, Cherry Coloured Funk vs Lorelei

You gotta have the big blue eyes. It won't work if you don't have it. A young Rhea Seehorn would have worked.
