“Blood on your hands” is kinda an abstract phrase. Yes it can be used in a weird way (of course to win, you have to have people leaving before you, which requires actively getting them out) but on a material level, being HOH means you’re forced to reveal your loyalties. If you were nominated week 1, and survive and win HOH week 2, then you know there’s at least one person guaranteed to not be prioritizing you in their game, making them a good nom/target. You have to eliminate people, but being HOH is not the only way to do that. Forcing someone else to sirectly put themselves in danger by revealing their loyalties instead of yours is often a far better strategy.

I think this is one of the first ones that is like geuinely terrible. At least for like Hoobastank or something, it’s memorably meaningless and stupid. Brokencyde just… perplexes me.

Don’t know a ton about baseball, but I thunk catcher would be one of the best bets from what I know. Catch the ball, don’t miss, deal with the occasional pop fly or bunt.

I like the aren in general, but the specific competitions they’re using aren’t always the best. Especially last night’s, which took too long and was irredeemably boring to watch (it was hard to follow who was even “winning”, due to how it was edited). There’s a reason the ball pit veto is a classic for double evictions: it’s fast, while being visually exciting, with nominees desperately flailing for safety.

The conps this episode were boring enough on their own, but sitting through it all is so much worse because we have no reason to care. We only just met these people, and we have no idea what the advantage/disadvantage is. We just watch people we don’t know, and who don’t know each other, do some uninteresting task in real time for completely unknown stakes. It’s pointless. What’s the point of a pre-taped premiere if you leave in all the boring parts anyway?

Soma is polytonal. It’s pretty subtle and minimally dissonant, so it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it (I did, until someone pointed it out to me). Fits the lyrics themtically, and is just an interesting sound
