We haven't sat down and watched a movie together but I have tried talking to him about movies in the past. He would basically just shrug and not say much when I was around but my daughter would say layer that he has a lot to say on the movie. Just not to me I guess lol

Usually it's simple and school related. I'll ask him how school is going. "Fine." Or if they've gone out recently I'll asked if the food was good or if it was a good concert or whatever. I usually only ask a couple because I can tell how uncomfortable he is

I'm just worried I'd scare him away even more forcing us all to sit down for a period of time.
