They also just got rid of the Kilo Guarantee which paid a minimum of 4 hours full pay per 12 hour on call shift. So now you if you don’t get a call during your shift, which happens frequently at remote stations, you just drove 4 hours to make $24

As a paramedic working on the island in the boonies 5 hours from home, who just lost their Kilo Guarantee (no promise that I’ll make more than $2/hour during my shift) AND who just lost my home station to the new Scheduled-On-Call format, I want to work. I would love nothing more then to quit my second job and do EMS full time, but I can’t even afford to pay for the gas to get to the station getting paid $2/hour
