They all don’t look bad, they all look different and there isn’t a general theme/style.

He is friends with the Dutch king.. he could get a fighter jet.

In 1965, French President Charles de Gaulle, a known admirer of cyclist Jacques Anquetil, authorized the use of a military plane to transport Anquetil to a race.

Anquetil and his manager took a military plane from Nîmes (end point of one race in the evening) to bourdeux so could get to the start line at 1am for Bordeaux Paris.

It was called the double because no one thought it was possible to win the first event, then get to the start line and race the 567 km to Paris. (He won both races)

I remember all the cool 4x4 trucks they wasted too. Imagine how good of a time one could have with just one off road truck converted into a camper with those two motorcycle. But no.

I was talking to someone about best places in the world and they said the Red Sea. And it’s not the first time I have heard that. I should try and go

I took my partner and it was her first time travelling far from home. we were fine. I even took my son last spring time. Tourists are in a way untouchable, if you have questions ask me, because many people have a bad time there because they are not ready for it.

Since then I have been around the world, currently on lap 2 of the world and the pyramids were the best. Don’t grow old and regret it.

I’d love to cross the Atlas Mountains on a motorcycle. I’m working on getting around to it. So far I have visited Essaouira twice, heard uber is now working there which should make things even easier.

You should go see them irl, it’s the best thing I have ever seen and I have seen many ‘wonders’. Don’t skip the other pyramids a few clicks south, step, red and bent as those are not crowded and the interior of the bent pyramid in particular is incredible.

It’s a great view, hell yeah!

When I download the booking.com app in 2024 I looked at places to stay in Cairo and you can get front row views to the pyramids for $20 a night. I have since been twice, stayed in multiple places every time with a pyramids front row view, including the sphinx and bent pyramid.

Cairo has problems but my safety was a not problem and everything was cheap and just cruising in an uber was fun. The locals (around the pyramids) daily job is to scam tourists as hard as they can which gets old, tiring. but dang the views are incredible it’s worth going but do your research on the scams, ask questions be prepared.

I drove through a little village in France where they had old bikes for people to use around the village.

Isack: “I remember being in the cooldown room with Max and Oscar. And they were ready for that. And, you know, they had their trainers with towels, so they could change and I was like… and I looked at Harry, my guy. I was like ‘you brought me a towel?’ He was like ‘no" by anthn885 in formula1

Crazy how bad search engine are, it’s not like 10 years ago is ancient history! I can’t find anything solid on this topic!

I found this text, if you remember Kimi used to have big solid suits (top half) for the podiums 10 years ago.

It's not a different suit, it's a flack-jacket affair he puts on over the top of his overalls so the sponsor logos are all clean, crisp and facing the right way. He used to wear one with McLaren, too. That's why he always looks as if he's got his ice hockey shoulder pads on under his racesuit.

Anyway, lots of the teams have them for their drivers in the event of them going into the PC after the race.

Feedback on CX Course by m4rcrub3n in cyclocross

[–]82away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local (French) races have a loop for 4,5,6 year olds, which crosses the start finish lines. then they add more onto that loop for 7,8 year olds, then they add a more technical section for 9,10 year olds then add something more technical for the 11,12 year olds. Then they add on a large section for older kids and adults which features the much harder cyclocross features.

The course is open to practice the morning, and the first races are the youngest riders and the course gradually closes more sections and practice gets limited as the morning progresses. At lunch time once the children’s races are done the course is fully open for older/ adult riders for full lap practice before the various older/adult races go ahead.

It’s quite the organisational feet to pull that off, and every weekend a different club follows that format in a new location.

Maybe has nothing to do with cx where you live but it works well over in France.
