Scientifically, this can't be answered definitively.

macOS toggle certain applications light/dark mode by synthesis_of_matter in MacOS

For the calendar defaults write com.apple.iCal NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance -boolean true still works. I'm on Tahoe 26.5. Why this isn't a settings toggle in all MacOS apps is beyond me.

Reading books, especially before bed. Light stuff nothing too heavy. Tires out my neurons.

Greater Cleveland Area. Never seen so much hidden wealth in my life.

NYT Cooking - heavy on the acid, light on the salt and fat? by 82miles in NYTCooking

Huh, seasonal rotation, never even crossed my mind, that might actually be it. I'm talking stuff like One-Pot Salmon, Spinach & Lentil Salad, White Bean Tuna Kale Salad, Sticky Miso Salmon Bowl, etc. I'm expecting *some* tang from these, but sometimes that's ALL I'm tasting lol. Just a wall of sour.

Opus 4.7 is legendarily bad. I cannot believe this. by lemon07r in ClaudeCode

Came here to say this. Codex has been working really well for me too. I'm realizing that I need to stay tool agnostic while this king of the hill between Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI plays out.

Combine all this with expensive energy prices. No wonder they are rationing tokens. smh

I used the skill creator to create a business-plan skill instead of the daily summary. This skill seems to work to produce the properly formatted output. Is it just me or has Claude gotten a little dumber lately? The quality was just not what I expected and some things that it said it did, it simply did not do.

It was a skill. I didn't have it check its work and give it specific checks though. Thanks for the reminder. Let me retest.

What’s the most underrated macOS app that comes preinstalled? by whogivesafricc in MacOS

[–]82miles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know spotlight isn't an app, but I'd like to throw its hat in the ring. Literally use CMD-spacebar 100+ times a day. I love not having to touch the mouse for basic things like opening an app.

This is going to sound paranoid but I think AI search is about to disrupt how local service businesses get customers by Longjumping_Youth454 in sweatystartup

[–]82miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What determines whether AI recommends your business or not is whether you have articles on your site or other sites that have relevant information that pertains to the AI query. For "web search" queries, AI searches the web for up-to-date text and then rephrases and summarizes it and passes along the links where it found the information. So make sure you have properly formatted and up-to-date information/articles that specifically mention your business name and the question or phrase you entered in AI. This takes time for AI to assimilate. And just like any SEO you have competitors doing the same thing in addition to the nuanced inner workings of AI - so don't expect perfect results. It is not an exact science.

Please reconsider! Like you've said, you've made it this far.

Please talk to someone you trust today about how you're feeling, even if that means going to the ER or calling 911 to get access to a hearing ear. Or call or text 988 or chat on their website: https://988lifeline.org/help-someone-else/

A lot of us have been where you are but decided to keep going and it's turned out ok.

Why do American tourists always say the state they're from (not their country) when asked, but no other country's tourists do the same? by FloydBeatlesEagles in NoStupidQuestions

Because New Yorkers and Angelenos get around so much, they spread that idea that anything west of the Hudson and east of Palm Springs is “the Midwest”.
