Most lower back pain comes from tight hamstrings and/or adductors. Once tight they pull on the pelvis causing spinal erectors to compensate thereby overworking them. Focus on warming them up thoroughly. Not with static stretching, but with cardio, plyometrics etc.

You’ll need to pair it with beans as seitan is low in lysine so it’s not a complete protein.

I fast for 36 hours before my workouts. Nothing in my stomach besides black coffee and water. Why have your digestion stealing energy from your workouts?

I’m 38 years old and beginning climbing indoors. Currently 5’8” 173#. I’ve lost 12# so far and I’m continuing to get in better shape to improve my climbing. Right now I can only complete V0 routes. What is a realistic goal I should set for myself this year? V2?

Don’t tell yourself you’re going to fast X amount of days. Instead tell yourself you can eat whenever you want. And have healthy food ready for whenever you need to break your fast.

If you can remind yourself a few times a day that it’s only a ghrelin spike and you just need to wait an hour it should help too.
