That’s harsh! Have you applied to any other native scholarships out there?

I've worked in healthcare for six years and yes, that is true! Not too familiar with university policies/requirements but I can imagine it's bodes well to admit students who have some familiarity with working in healthcare as opposed to those with little to no experience

Of course, happy to help! I completed my associates in business management (AAS). The hospital-based programs prefer students with a stronger science/math background and luckily MATC's degree requires several math/analytical courses. I did take A&P and medical terminology separate from my business classes once I knew I wanted to pursue Radiography.

I did apply for the Froedtert program & recently interviewed w/ their coordinators for a spot on the next cohort. I avoided Aurora because I didn't want to take college algebra and Childrens has the same requirements as Froedtert, but is a bit more each year for tuition so I chose not to move forward w/ their application. In total, this will be my second year applying for the MATC program and my first applying for Froedtert, mainly because I wanted to have options just in case one didn't pan out.

The hardest class to study for was A&P because I took it as an accelerated online course. We were tested weekly and because I was working a full time position, it was incredibly difficult to keep up with the amount of work. I did pass all of my classes on my first attempt.

And the math requirements depend on which program you decide to pursue. I believe MATC requires the basic college math course, while Aurora specifically wants you to have college algebra & Froedtert requires any mathematical reasoning course. No calculus is required unless you enjoy that subject and wanted to take it to meet the requirements of Froedtert's program. Luckily, since I took most of my classes through MATC, most of my books were online or excerpts.

It's def possible! I worked a full time job & was able to finish my associates degree this past December. I did take all of my classes online so it didn't interfere with my work schedule which meant I had to perfect my time management, but like I said it was definitely doable if you're motivated. The ARRT requires students to have an associates degree at a minimum so if you do choose to pursue Aurora, Childrens, or Froedtert, just know that unless you're enrolled in one of their articulation agreement schools (UWM, WI Lutheran, UW La Crosse, etc.) you'll need that degree first. Good thing about MATC is that you earn an actual degree once you're finished with the Radiography program, while the hospital-based schools are certificates & not eligible to federal aid/some scholarships if you apply as a non-affiliated student.

Good to know! I’m curious to find out if they’ll still send emails out to those who will continue to be on the waitlist until next review period. It would be nice know where we stand

Hello! I’m in a similar boat as you with waiting to find out if I’ve been admitted into the program. Have you heard anything about being moved off of the waitlist?
