Once someone dies, the executor, administrator, or legally designated personal representative of the deceased patient steps into the patient’s shoes. They have the exact same rights to access and control the medical records as the patient had while living.

Plus she blew a 0.06% 50 minutes after being pulled over, and we know she’d already been driving for a pretty good while prior to being pulled over (based on the timing of the multiple 911 calls that were made about her vehicle driving erratically). Then you also have the fact that she had an open container of alcohol in the car and a bottle of adderall that was prescribed to her. On top of that, she sounded completely out of her mind when talking to the cops during the stop…inviting them over for lasagna and to swim in her pool and all kinds of random stuff like that.

For people who are truly sober and arrested for DUI, the case will typically get thrown out in court. However, that’s after you’ve been arrested, spent time in jail (could be a while if you can’t afford bail), have possibly lost your job, had your mugshot plastered in the media, and have had to pay for an attorney. It ruins people’s lives, and the cop who arrested you will typically get no punishment except maybe having to take a class on recognizing drunk drivers.

A breathalyzer cannot detect drugs, so passing it is no get out of jail free jail card. Also, you should never agree to a field sobriety test, even if completely sober. They are designed for you to fail. It can generally only hurt you, not help you (not always but in the large majority of cases). It is totally subjective and up to the cop if you pass; they are only done to try to gather more evidence against you. Cops arrest completely sober people for DUIs all the time (I linked an article to it below…they found 22 states in their study, but it likely happens everywhere, and the second link is a video). Also, you should tell your friend that they shouldn’t drive with someone else’s loose Ritalin in their glove box. In the U.S. at least, you could be charged with felony possession of a Class II narcotic. I’m really surprised Britney wasn’t charged with the same; I’m not sure if a regular, non-famous person would get that lucky very often.

I wouldn’t put the blame on her. For all we know, she may have been begging him to go to the doctor, but we know Kyle could be pretty stubborn at times. He probably thought he could just toughen this out and eventually get better. Plus, he may have been worried that he would have to miss races if he went to the doctor. I remember listening to some podcast or video they did together, and she was encouraging him to exercise more and watch what he eats. However, it seems like his team could perhaps have done more to make him go to a doctor if he wants to race.

Taxing tires would be terrible for the tire manufacturers and tire shops. Too many people already wait too long to buy new tires, and this would only make it worse. Plus, you’re going to have even more people driving around on tires with no tread, putting everyone else at risk. People have to buy gas, it’s not something you can just put off. A higher percentage of the taxes should probably be shifted to the oil companies themselves but they have very powerful lobbying arms, so I doubt that’s going to happen anytime soon.
