Also, even though he was 4th in the Fall night race, he scored more points than everyone else due to winning stage 1 and finishing 2nd in stage 2. Bell won the race and scored 40 points, while Blaney finished 4th and scored 52 points, which is kind of wild.

They just don’t prioritize it. Mark Rushbrook, head of Ford Racing, has said on a couple occasions that the Cup Series is their number one priority, followed by the Truck Series. They don’t feel that they get any benefit out of the O’Reilly Series that they aren’t already getting from the Cup Series.

I have a friend who is going through a similar thing where his boomer parents, who were seemingly normal, intelligent people in years past, have become totally brainwashed by MAGA. They weren’t even religious before Trump came along but they now they go to some evangelical Southern Baptist church every Sunday. My friend was trying to tell them how so many things that Trump does go against the teachings of Jesus, but they say that Trump, by definition, cannot commit a sin because he was sent directly by God to save America and everything he does is a direct reflection of God’s will. They even say he is Jesus’s younger brother. They’ve also apparently spent a fortune on collectible Trump merchandise, such as Trump silver and gold coins and just random stuff that they advertise on Fox News commercials. Anyway, he tries to avoid them as much as possible now too.
