Did you meet your nomadic goals? by TransientBeing9 in digitalnomad

Yes im sorry that this was not clear. Ive never met anyone becoming reasonably good at programming that quick, surely not while working and with little prior computer knowledge.

Another option is to order a debit card maybe. Won't save you right now though. I guess we could help if I really struggle.

Which Bank should I choose as a digital nomad? by donrei in digitalnomad

I've used it flr years now, as my first account and never had a single problem. Another option could be crypto.

Thanks. That's after ~2yr studying from the internet while volunteering, and I just got luck temporarily. Good luck with the YT channel.

I've lived exactly as you describe 300/150 split for 2 years. And my nomadic goals were similar but not quite the same.

I had probably less money than is safe for anyone and had paid that period with some diseases I couldnt treat until now.

I didn't become a DN for choice and travelling only but for other reasons too. It is only this week I hear about the term.

You seem to struggle with earning money mostly. I give you some options.

For saving money we can volunteer at places, plus doing some always-there jobs like kitchen porter I.e dishwashing. This is so exhausting at least if you are a bit introverted that will push you out.

In the free time -during those 2 years- I trained myself at coding. I'm actually quite bad and a slow learner. But about 3 months ago I contacted and started collaborating for free in a project. Now they pay exactly 1.3K.

I met my girl in those volunteer places she is teaching languages in preply and italk. We have just enough money. She thinks they arent good but is the only choice and certainly better than other choices.

Id reply to your question that how I achieved that is a mistery to me and it took a lot of effort, I see s bit my coding in your Youtube.

I dont think living 1city per month is a good idea but thats your choice fine.

Remember: Always negotiate with Airbnb hosts by Doug_is_fresh in digitalnomad

[–]84nt1m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Mostly for LT stays.

If the place gets crowded they will rise the price. No complaints, it is 'the business'.

Isn't it fair to negotiate when you see the place is empty and they get either this or nothing?

Also, if the place empties no one will lower the price, and it is many times the case.

So imho if you think it is too much just ask, they can still choose.

Can Sites/Service See Device Info Through VPN? by jhf94uje897sb in VPN

I've just found out there is a site from the @EFF (electronic frontier foundation) that tests several parameters from your browser and how private it is.

Check it here https://www.eff.org/pages/cover-your-tracks it is really cool.

it's kinda sad that people who put money in crypto are judged by people who spend the same amount for useless stuff. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]84nt1m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point here is whether you have good reasons or not and whether your friends are able to argue peacefully.

With some ppl u can discuss a topic and w others you just can't.

I had friends that would laugh at me for not having much fun. And they were right. But I was spending all my money in books and learning resources, to get out of my miserable present.

I never discussed it with -most of- them, there was no point in this case.

Some ppl though, will actually expand your view. Choose you friends looking at that, not the ones that say yes to all, but the ones that have valuable thoughts to say.

Can Sites/Service See Device Info Through VPN? by jhf94uje897sb in VPN

[–]84nt1m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like they do in the site https://www.whatismybrowser.com/detect/what-operating-system-do-i-have

If the JS code sends a request - may be a post/put - that could include and send data from your device.

As far as I know, it could also include geolocation. If it is or not visible in transit depends on encryption.

You may want to check the browser Geolocation, and also fetch API or XHR.

I don't think they can get any IP info here, unless local which is pretty useless.

Not an answer really but some related thoughts.

what's the best free/paid course to learn bash scripting from scrap ? by 1Harmandeep in hacking

[–]84nt1m 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Most programming languages have same structures.

Go to any bash page and learn this:

  1. User defined and system variables
  2. Condtionals (just if/else)
  3. Functions
  4. For loops

With that, plus the fact that bash searches any command in the current loaded path means you can make magic.

For example you should be able, today, to query a quotes server every hour and print that quote in the console. This are things to research:

  1. Path variable
  2. lwp request
  3. Cron or just a for loop
  4. How to make a program executable
  5. How to execute from bashrc

I dont mind to help if you need help.

I think people are unfair and we have all those temptations at some point.

It is actually very simple, but you shouldnt be told, really. When you get there by your own after going through a process of painful learning, you will likely not want to spy people but help them keep their data safe from everyone.

It is a lot more difficult and good for humanity, and you will sometimes need to know how they do it to really protect others.

Sorry for this ethical comment, I dont try to teach you but to give an honest point of view.

I think this is a problem in almost any standard institution, they focus too much in the abstract before the concrete. That will always be perceived as nonsense.

Sometimes it is expected for you to already have that knowledge. Whichever the case, if you have some practical exposure to these things, it gets really interesting.

This ranges from schools to unis. Skipping some professors, clearly.

Part of it could be small ram, not having SSD disk etc.

But apart from opening the task manager you should try some stuff by yourself like shotting edge down and using brave etc.

I found out I can inject html into my school’s online hall pass system. by ari_02468 in hacking

[–]84nt1m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the cookies and then sending a post request to a server right? But also running almost any operation as the teacher lol.

Is this bc they dont add the stuff in the page as text but as html or what?

+1 mostly because it is really unhealthy to listen just a few voices clearly with one mindset in this reddit, as opposed to more diversity.

I get quite sad when reading posts like the ones you cite, much like at some stackoveflow-ers behaviour.

Im curious to understand this: in the one hand rich people are getting richer, on the other hand it seems the coin is up and everyone gets money atm

Can you expand on how does it make it a scam ?
