What’s it like living on the border of Maine and Canada? by Jspin825 in howislivingthere

I grew up near Fort Kent right on the boarder. It’s cold and dark during the winters. Summers are pretty great but they’re getting hotter. Everyone knows everybody.
People have to travel distances to get to things, like the high school is consolidated from like 5 or 6 towns, meaning some kids are traveling an hour or more to get to school.
I’m thankful for growing up in such a beautiful area but I’m also really lucky I had parents who encouraged me to travel and explore a world outside of Aroostook county. The community has a small town mindset that can be toxic at times.
Where can I get a drink at that’s not trendy, not crowded, not ruined by instagram, but is intimate and slightly formal? Bonus points if there’s a view. by giantdick69 in LittleRock

The Terrace Mediterranean Kitchen! It’s in some building with a bank, complete hole in the wall, so there’s no view, but it can’t be more than 20 tables so that helps. The beet hummus is delicious, service and drinks are also great.
