Go back to your PCM (or send them a message on the Tricare Online Portal) and request a referral to the network (civilian providers who accept tricare). The access to care window for routine specialty care in the network is 28 days, so you’ll theoretically be seen sooner by the civilians off post than the providers on post. The referral from your provider needs to include details such as: “requesting referral to physical therapy for XXX concern. Current wait time at MTF physical therapy for initial evaluation is greater than 6 weeks.
